Customer Review: Good phone, but got "Out of Range" error after 1.5 months
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had this phone for 1.5 months, and have been very satisfied. It is easy to set up, easy to use, good sound quality, large, easy to read font, ..., everything I want in a phone. Don't really have any complaints until now when one of my handsets displays "Out of Range" message all the time, even though I'm sitting right next to the main unit! I would have given it 5 stars if it did not have this problem.

I am writing this review mostly to inform you how to get rid of the "Out of Range" error, since some other reviewers had similar problem. I was able to get rid of the error by simutaneously pressing the Phone Off button (red) and the # button to deregister the phone, then put the phone on the base to re-register.

I tried to de-register before from Menu - Deregister HS. This did not work!

With this problem, I am just a little worried about the quality of this phone. Hopefully this is the last problem I'll have with this phone :-)

Customer Review: Everything we expected.....almost.:):)
Summary: 5 Stars

These phones were to replace our 8 year old system which was a Panasonic. (plagued with battery problems & vowed never again to purchase Panasonic)

Our new Uniden meets & exceeds everything we had expected. From voice clarity, ease of use, room monitoring, phone book features, call transfers, selective ring tones, wifi network interference, etc., etc.,

The only drawback we have noticed has been the distance coverage. In comparing to our older system, we've found that this system starts to cut out when using two handsets about 500 feet apart between two buildings.

We have another phone in our extended garage....you have to walk up to a window or door in order for it not to cut out. The older Panasonics did not have this problem.

Although not a huge problem, all the other features overshadow it & we've decided to keep them.

An excellent system...well made....& great value.

Customer Review: Phone is great... when it works
Summary: 2 Stars

I've had to return this phone several times. You can read about all the great stuff about this phone in other people's reviews. My comments will focus on the problems I've had. my first phone had issues with power loss. The handset would typically lose power and would not respond to any of the buttons. The only way to bring the handset back was to remove the battery and reset the handset. I returned this phone. My second phone had audio problems. The person on the other end could not hear my voice even though I could hear them. This would typically occur several minutes into a conversation for no reason. I took this phone back. My third phone has only a minor problem. The volume fluctuates between loud and soft. I'm willing to live with this because I don't want the hassle of returning yet another phone.

If I were to buy a new phone, I would not buy this one and I would not recommend any of my friends or family to buy it either.

Customer Review: Great phone, too bad we had to return it
Summary: 4 Stars

This phone was really very nice. It was simple, easy to set up and use. The handsets as well as the base were ergonomic and modern looking. The answering system worked well and could be checked from the handsets which was nice.

Unfortunately, the second handset was "out of range" less than 60 feet away on the other side of two brick walls. We really wanted these phones to communicate with each other well, in order to transfer calls/intercom with my father working out in his building. Also, just walking too far (which was not far) outside with handset caused me to be cut off. The lack of an antenna may be one major cause of this problem. However, the handsets look nice and are nice to hold. The darn things just won't reach!

So if you need a good, simple, well-designed pair of phones for around the house (and it's not a big house) then I say definitly get this phone.

Customer Review: Best phone I've owned
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great phone. I have owned several cordless answering machine type phones in the past and they all had some problems, but this one doesn't. I love the orange lighted dials and the fact that when you have a message the whole base display lights up (orange!) and there is a flashing light on the handset as well. You definitely can't miss a msg on this phone. Sound is excellent on the phone and on the answering machine. Handsets are comparatively light and easy to use.

The only negative (and I can't remember if my others were this way) is that you can only use 10 speed dial numbers (in other words no 11, 12, etc., as I can use on my cell phone.)

As to the battery problem mentioned by someone else, I don't quite understand. There are batteries supplied with both handsets and the base station plugs in to your AC (house) power. So no problem there, either.
