I bought this phone with my father in mind. He is hard of hearing and sometimes doesn't even hear the phone ring. He is happy with the phone, he can see that it is ringing, he has adjusted the volume to where he can hear conversations. My mother is happy with the push-button numbers, she had still been using an old rotary dial and could barely see the numbers anymore. She says she doesn't even need to use her glasses to dial with this one.Customer Review: Phone is ideal for those getting older.

I purchased this phone for my mother who is both hearing and visually impaired. The called ID screen is easy to see and the buttons are easy to press with arthritic fingers. The "very" loud ringer is able to be heard throughout the house. The flashing handset and base are convenient when you need to have the house quiet during the afternoon nap. This phone was purchased as a replacement for a more expensive portable phone purchased for an elderly, hearing impaired person. That other phone was a kluge, difficult to hold, too many buttons and utlimately proved unreliable (lasted 1.2 years before failing). The Uniden is simple, easy to hold and understand with brightly lit numbers. Also, good tactile feeling. The volume and sound quality are excellent. I recently purchased this phone for my 84 year-old grandmother who is a little hard of hearing and needed a cordless phone with amplified sound. We couldn't be more delighted with this model. It is well designed, easy to use, and the earpiece volume amplification feature works very nicely. The blinking LEDs make it easy to see when the phone rings, and the caller ID has large easy-to-read characters. A great investment for $50.Customer Review: uniden for impaired

I am very pleased with my new Uniden phone. The numbers are large and easy to read. The volume is easily adjusted and adequate for my hearing loss. I like the fact that it flashes "red" when it rings. Also, it holds a charge for a long time All and all it is the best phone in the house. I walk with a walker and keep the phone in a pocket on the Hugo all the time. It is my safety net and much easier to use than my cell phone.
