I bought this phone for my elderly parents. It exactly meets my expectations. The sound quality is very good, my parents figured out how to use it, and they switched to it immediately.
I would make one suggestion on the design. I find my parents having trouble getting it back onto the cradle after they hang up. I mounted it on the wall and we find the hook mechanism that holds the phone on the base a bit small and difficult to engage. The phone has fallen more than once as my Mom tried to get it back into the cradle.

I purchased two EZI996 phones to replace some old ones which had worn out. They have good amplification of sound are light in weight for easy handleing. There are some conflicts with haveing the two base stations near one another in that sometimes one or the other phone will not activate after pushing the talk button several times on one phone but the other phone does start up correctly. The other unwanted action is that if while using one phone, you put the other on the base station, the phone you are using disconnects from the call.Customer Review: Good phone - as advertised

I am a fan of 900mhz phones as they seem to avoid a lot of interference and generally work well. Given that they are quickly fading from the market, I am always on the lookout for units to "stock" to put in service when another phone in the house fails. This unit worked properly right out of the box. Only fault with this purchase was the packing when shipped, which seemed a bit substandard. In spite of that, it arrived in good working order. Bottom line: good phone, delivered promptly, got a good price..... so very satisfied.Customer Review: Pure junk

I bought this phone as a Christmas present for my 92 year old father in law, who not only has bad hearing, but doesn't have the best eyesight in the world either. Unfortunately, he didn't open the package for quite a few months and when he did, we found that the phone didn't work at all. Since it had been a while since we had purchased the phone, the dealer (not Amazon) refused to let us return it, saying that we'd need to contact Uniden. Uniden has been less than helpful as well, so we're stuck with a phone that doesn't work.Customer Review: Cordless Phone

I waa so excited when I ordered this phone. I was having problems hearing on my old cordless phone and I thought the volume boost was just what I needed. I also liked the idea of having a large caller ID display.
What a disaapointment.
The phone cuts in and out constantly, it either blasts you out or you hear nothing. You cannot go 10 feet away from the base without loosing your connection. The caller ID is large but not illuminated as implied.
Do not buy this product if you need a decent phone.
