Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Uniden EZI996 900 MHz Extended Range Cordless TelephoneCustomer Review: Love this phone Summary: 5 Stars
A lot of the newer phone models are very small with small buttons. I like the larger size of this phone and it is light in weight. The number pad is easy to read and it's also easy to read the numbers on the screen as you dial. You can easily adjust the volume of the ringer with high tones and low tones and also adjust the volume on the handset. I have never had any static with this phone. I wanted to get another of these phones for the bedroom but currently Amazon is not selling them. Uniden says they are back ordered and there is currently a waiting list for these phones. They said the phones should be available again in April. Hopefully, Amazon will carry them again as well.
Customer Review: Finally a good phone Summary: 5 Stars
after reading favorable reviews of this phone online, we bought one. Finally, we have a great phone. The sound is perfectly clear. The ringer is loud enough. The caller ID display is larger than normal so it's easy to read, and I like the larger buttons. We're not elderly (mid 40's) but this phone just has a great design for anyone but is especially good for those who have trouble reading a regular caller ID display or perhaps is hard of hearing because one of the features is an optional red blinking light display when the phone rings. There is also a volume boost if you have trouble hearing the other person. I'm buying another one for my mother who is in her 80's.
Customer Review: Easy to leave "off hook" Summary: 4 Stars
I bought one of these phones for my 94 y.o. mother who has nearly lost her eyesight due to macular degeneration. The phone works well enough, but the single Talk button toggles the hang-up function on and off. She can't tell very easiy whether she hit the Talk button and actually hung up. Consequently she has left the phone off-hook for many hours on several occasions. It would be better to have separate Talk and Hang-up buttons like cell phones have and also a bright red light on the phone to indicate the line is in use. The Talk button should also have a raised nipple or ring around it so that the person can easily feel when the button is under the finger.
Customer Review: Just what I was looking for. Summary: 5 Stars
The cordless phone that I was using next to the computer was small and hard to hold. It was impossible to cradle it on your shoulder to leave your hands free. It also was hard to understand anyone on it. I went looking for something better and found most cordless phones were no better. Then I found the Uniden EZ1996. It was just what I wanted. I have had it for a couple of months now and am very satisfied with it. I don't need the flashing lights when it rings, because I am not that hard of hearing, but the lights don't bother me. I do like the caller-id built into the phone, and the shape suits me to a "T". I recommend the phone.
Customer Review: Best phone I've used in years Summary: 5 Stars
Our house has seen a parade of cordless phones over the last many years. None have lasted long, either because they just didn't work very well (and I returned them) or they broke after a short while. I still have 10 year old Uniden (speakerphone) in my office that still works like a charm. I have two of the EZI996's and they work perfectly. I couldn't be happier with them.
I really recommend 900 MHz techology. Every single 2.4 and 5.8 GHz phone I tried (about 4 of them) I returned after using for a day. For whatever reason they just don't have the clarity of 900 MHz in the two places I've lived.
