Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Uniden DECT 6.0 Digital Caller ID Cordless Phone (DECT1560)Customer Review: Uniden DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone Not Good Summary: 1 Stars
I've had this phone for a while now. It was just okay at first; however, as the months rolled by, I had more and more problems with it:
1. Sound Quality: I can hear people on the other end of the line just fine, but sometimes they can't hear me clearly, if at all. I've had people say, "I can hardly hear you," or "Your voice sounds really muffled." This has not happened with any other land-line phone I've owned.
2. Range: Sometimes even when I'm next to the base, the readout says I'm out of range. Sometimes it just drops a call.
3. Static: Arguably, this issue could fall under "Sound Quality," but it's more serious than that. As of right now, I can't even use the phone because there's so much static. And while the static is happening, I can't hear the person's voice on the other end of the line. It does this every now and then, thereby making this one of the least dependable phones I've ever owned.
4. Headset and Base: The handset does not fit into the base snugly enough, and when it's inside, it falls out at the drop of a hat. And the handset in general is hard to hold on to.
5. Bad Buttons: The large center button that controls the phone book, caller ID history, and ringer volume no longer functions properly. Long story short, it sticks most of the time. For example, scrolling through the phone book should be a no-brainer, but pushing on the down arrow simply doesn't work sometimes. And when it does, I often can't scroll up, forcing me to keep scrolling down until it cycles beyond the beginning.
Otherwise, the phone looks okay, and the battery seems to have a decent life. Those are about the only positive things I can say about it.
