Works fine on my kids itouch and my iphone (edge model), I wanted one that I could just put in batteries when needed since I don't always have a place to re-charge the rechargeable type of phone adapters. The only thing I would like them to do is dim down the LED lights, in a dark room or plane they are very bright but I just placed my phone over the top of it so it wasn't glaring at me.
Another good thing is this one has a cord, I had one before that the battery pack went directly into my phone and made my phone about 4" longer and more awkward since it was one solid piece when connected; having a cord is better.

Bought two of these to power our Ipods on a long overseas trip. One never worked. The other requires an occasional slap to get it going. Bottom line it's poorly engineered. The metal battery connections do not align properly with the battery beds. Also when you can can compel one to work, the blue light that shows it is working is bright enough to attract incoming aircraft: it does not make for a pleasant viewing listening experience especially in a darkened lane. It could just as effective at 20% of the brightness level.
We had to buy new chargers and ended up going with Powerstick. This was $42 down the tubes.

I bought this little marvel for my new iPod Classic 80GB... I saw this and tought it would be great for when I'm travelling, in the beach or out for some photoshoot... And I was right man!
I use this with some 2100 Ni-mh and It recharges my iPod without any problem and really fast... about 80% charge in a mere 15 minutes... and you can even charge while the iPod is working. I haven't got into how many charges can it make per a couple of AA's... but with the Ni-Mh's at least 4 or 5.
Let me do you a favor: do no hesitate, just buy it... is trully amazing (and let's face it... is pretty cheap ah?)

On our return flight from China this little gizmo came in very handy. Our adaptor/converter had died, and we weren't able to charge up the ipod before heading home. We were trying to watch a video and the ipod battery completely died...by attaching this we were able to continue watching without any problem. Don't know how long it would have lasted, since we had to shut off "all electronic devices" just as the video ended - but on an ipod that was completely out of juice, we watched well over an hour of video before shutting it off. Downside? the 2AA batteries are heavy. Would highly recommend it though!Customer Review: Great for plane rides

Purchased this unit to keep my Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. usable for a 6-hour plane ride from BC. Like other reviewers have noted, the switch can be switched on accidentally while putting it into a pocket but otherwise, the unit worked great. I used it to recharge the Ipod Touch while taking a nap during the flight and it charged fully (from almost empty) in about an hour. The unit does get a little warm while charging but aside from that, it works great and I still have the original 2-AA batteries in the unit. This is a welcome addition to all of the Ipod accessories available for anyone taking a trip.
