I bought this device last summer for my iPod classic and it worked like a charm, enabling me to recharge midway through a long, overseas flight. However, I recently upgraded to the iPhone 3gs. I had heard complaints that the 3gs doesn't have long-enough battery life (which is true, by the way), but I thought if I ever got into a bind I could always plug in the Turbo Charge. To my great disappointment, when I plugged it into my phone, it popped up a yellow triangle with the message, "Charging is not supported with this device." So it's kind of useless to me now. It think it's a great device for iPod Nano or Classic, but DO NOT buy this product if you have an iPhone.Customer Review: Doesn't charge iPod

I bought this for a trip I was taking since the flight was a couple of hours long. I didn't have time to sample it out before I left so I took it assuming it did what it was supposed to. I was definitely let down when I plugged it into my iPod when the battery was dead and it didn't work. It does NOT charge all ipods. I have an iPod touch so beware if that is what you are purchasing it for. Do not buy! Yes I can be reimbursed but who wants to pay for shipping and ship it back. Complete waste of money, not to mention the rest of my flight I had an uncharged iPod and I was planning on using this device for charging throughout my trip.

Despite the assertion in Amazon's title, this product is *not* designed to work with the iPhone, as you'll find if you Google reviews on it. At best, you'll get a 20-25% charge before the iPhone thinks it's fully charged. Granted this is enough for emergencies, and you can use the iPhone while the Turbo Charge is connected, but Amazon's title is misleading nonetheless. And as others have noted, the switch design is terrible, prone to accidental activation leading to dead batteries. Until Energizer releases an Energi To GoŽ for the iPhone, however, this is the only AA battery backup device I've found that works somewhat, so it will have to do.Customer Review: Does NOT work for iPod Touch

Have an iPod Touch (3rd Generation), taking a long plane trip soon - this seemed like the perfect solution to the iPod Touch's wimpy battery life when watching movies. I made the mistake of assuming that the Turbo Charge TC2 Portable Charger would be fine for an iPod Touch if it works for iPhone (which, according to some of these other reviews - it doesn't!). I plug it in, turn it on, and within 2 seconds I get a message "charging is not supported with this accessory." It does work on the iPod Nano (2nd Generation), but that's not what I want this for! I guess I'll just have to read or - gulp - talk to my wife on the plane ride...Customer Review: Inefficient

This product is designed poorly; I've accidentally left it on because of the crappy switch so many times. The off position is between the charging position and a flashlight position. It has gotten to the point where i can't even put the thing in my pocket without worrying about the switch being lightly bumped and turning on.
Also, when its charging, several bright blue lights turn on- a huge waste of my batteries. Sure, it tells you how much battery power you have left, but this feature could be much smaller, and not waste all the power. This was a mistake buy, and I've stopped using the product for these reasons.
