Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Tripp Lite U026-016 USB2.0 16-Feet Certified Active Extension CableCustomer Review: Great for Extending USB Connections Between Computers Summary: 5 Stars
I connect my laptop to my desktop to transfer files between the two, using a Belkin Easy Transfer USB2 cable for that purpose (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002PAR0AQ/ref=oss_product). This Tripp Lite cable, which as others have pointed out is actually a single port hub, if you will, makes that process easier for me as I now have a port near the file cabinet on which the laptop rests while at home. The extension cable installed quickly and automatically under Windows 7, and surprisingly transfers between the computers are a little faster using this cable than without it, according to LapLink (the transfer software). Excellent choice if you have a need for such a product.
Customer Review: Tripp Lite Extension Cables are solid performers Summary: 5 Stars
I bought two of these Tripp Lite U026-016 USB 2.0/FireWire 16 foot Active Extension Cables. I have had them for a month and use them with both my PC and with my Playstation 2 Force Feedback Driving Wheels. They are well designed and made with nice thick insulation on the wires and tight connectors.
I am a picky consumer and have been very happy with other Tripp Lite products. (I also own two IsoTel Ultra 8s with metal cases and frequency shielding.) So after doing some comparisons, I put these at the top of my list. Tripp Lite is a little more expensive, but I have never had any failures, problems or headaches because of them.
Customer Review: Quality Cable. Will not Power iPad. Summary: 5 Stars
This cable is well constructed and seems like a quality cable. I was able to sync my iPad over the cable without a problem. It doesn't, however, power the iPad even when it is plugged into the back of a new iMac. I am nearly positive this is due to the active nature of the cable. It isn't a knock against the cable as I didn't really expect it to power the iPad in this configuration anyway. I just wanted to post the review here because I didn't see any related to the iPad and wanted to give an indication of how it worked when i tried it. I still give the cable 5 stars because it does everything I really expected it would and seems well made.
Customer Review: The Perfect USB 2.0 Extension Cable Summary: 5 Stars
I haven't had much time to mess with it yet but it seems to work great right out of the packaging. I'd highly recommend this product. I got it mainly so I could use it with my PS3 and it seems to work great! It had a nice snug fit when I plugged my controller USB cable into it, so you don't have to worry about the two USB cables coming apart, and my controller immediately started charging. I was also able to navigate the XMB on my PS3 just fine. I still have to test it with my Logitech racing wheel, which is the main reason I got it. I've uploaded some more relevent product pictures for everyone because the first one is way off.
Customer Review: PERFECT!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Even though I did not recieve exactly the one pictured, I did recieve the correct item as far as the part number. I used it to extend to my Epson R1800 photo printer, about a total lenth of 37 feet (including this active cord) andworked PERFECT right from the start!!! I read one other review that claimed this cord did not work at 2.0 but only 1.1, mine Does work at 2.0 speed. My "OLD", well used and I mean VERY well used Sony Vaio computer had no trouble loading this cord as a "gen" hub and the printer was found instantly even with this junk operating system, "VISTA". I would recomend this cord, works GREAT!!!
