This is a very well-made and rugged USB extender used by me to extend USB 2.0 across the room to a scanning table. I had attempted to use an older USB 1.1 extender and, as expected, performance of the scanner dropped considerably. While waiting for the Tripp-Lite to arrive - it came to me quickly - I used passive cables to extend the full 16 feet. The scanner performance was fast but I was concerned about errors because it was far longer than what's permitted by USB. I got lucky.
The Tripp-Lite performs flawlessly and it's USB 2.0 performance was immediately apparent with scan times approaching those of the scanner connected locally. The cable used in this product is larger and heavier than most USB cables. My particular scanner is not port-powered so I don't know much about the DC performance of the Tripp-Lite. I would definitely buy it again because it works and is well made.

We bought the Tripp Lite U026-16 to use with an alpha wifi adapter on our boat. When we are an anchor we use the alpha adapter to reach wifi stations on shore. To get adequate range we usually need to attache the wifi adapter several feet above the deck. We bungee cord it to the rigging.
The Tripp Lite extension cable is used to snake through a hatch and connect to a laptop below decks. Because of the length of the run we are always dealing with voltage drops that impact the performance of the alpha adapter. This cable seems to perform better than most in this regard.
Normally I don't have much loyalty to products like this but I would look for this product the next time I need an extension cable. Ill probably buy half a dozen of these when we are back in the states in December.

I bought an Astak wireless video camera that uses a USB output of its receiver to the computer. Its range was limited so I had to extend the receiver about 60 feet from the computer. First I bought some rather inexpensive USB extenders (for about $11 bucks each) that were supposed to be USB2 and able to stack one onto the other. I was able to connect two of them, barely, but not three. I needed four. So after looking at many reviews, choose the TrippliteTripp Lite U026-016 USB2.0 Certified Active Extension Cable - 16ft. Glad I did, I only bought three and stacked together, they worked flawlessly for my wireless video camera. I was even able to use one of the cheap ones for my final cable, though I think I will go ahead and buy another Tripplite to put in it's place.Customer Review: It works

I purchased this because I was having an issue with my Logitech K350 keyboard with the unified receiver not recognizing every key press and delays ever since I put our HTPC into the basement under the living room. I figured it was interference from another cord or something else inside the wall so I tried this cord for its better shielding. I had already tried AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable (9.8 Feet / 3.0 Meters) and a USB 3.0 hub.
Alas, my problem remains, however I cannot fault this cord for that. It works no better and no worse that that $4 cable for this one application.
Someday, I need to get a USB dvd burner and maybe I will have more news at at that point.

I have been using this extender ( Tripp Lite U026-016 USB2.0 16-Feet Certified Active Extension Cable ) to connect my laptop with my Canon Pixma MP530 Office All-In-One Inkjet Photo Printer (I am happy with it as well!) for about a month now, and it is working transparently with no noticeable speed reduction.
I have the cable plugged into the laptop, and a 10 foot USB cable between it and the printer.
The only problem I have with it is that I still have to get up and walk 10 feet over to the printer to get the pages!
