Basically it's the best mov surge protector for a laptop. mov's are little disks in the surge protector that litterally pop when a surge spike happens. If you can handle the small weight difference the white isoblok 2-0 is better. It is a lower joule rating but offers a 0 sec. clamp time and lower voltage threshold. A spike only lasts around 1ns and a surge 3 ns. This adapter is ok at under 1ns. It is at 150 volts though and the isoblock is at 140 volts. Remember that not all power out of a socket is at 120 volts (110 in Japan). Either way you would need a new adapter every year just to be safe as the mov's are only worth 1 spike. I am an independent consultant and am always working on my laptop. For the last few months I have been working in an older building which every now and then has power surges. So far, this small surge suppressor has worked great. It is small enough to stick in a pocket of my carrying case and it has space for 2 plugs to be used at the same time. The electrical prongs slide into the device so there is no risk that they will break off in transport. A light comes on to let you know the device is working. My only complaint is that the button you press to have the prongs retract seems to be a little flimsy. So far, that has not been a problem.Customer Review: Just fine

This product works just fine for my wife's laptop. ( A qualification for any surge protector is you don't know if it really works until "lightning strikes :-) She wanted a surge protector which didn't take up a lot of space and she only needed one outlet (so the second is a spare :-) as the printer is wireless and in another room. People with a travel printer will have printer protection too. As an added benefit, she has the use for which it was designed, for travel it packs easily into the laptop's case. (The mechanism for retracting the prongs could move more easily for a woman's fingers.)Customer Review: handy peace of mind

I bought this little surge protector to use when I travel because I have had a video screen and a mother board burn up due to voltage spikes. Especially abroad where all power comes in 240V form. Although all battery chargers are dual 240-120V, at 240V power spikes can be a lot more lethal than at 120V. Now I use a 240-120V converter AND this supressor. The fact that it also has a double plug is great because it keeps you from having to carry an additonal bulky power strip.Customer Review: Great product

We bought this product to protect the second laptop in our household. It is compact, has a second outlet into which a second device can be plugged and protected. Because it is compact it plugs directly into a duplex wall outlet and still allows room to the other outlet to be used (unprotected). The lights indicate it is functioning. It fullfils all we expected and we highly recommend it, whether you travel or not. It will fit into a computer travel bag easily.
