This cable does not have clips to lock the cable in place as indicated by other reviewers. The cable works as expected, does not have a "sound quality" attribute. It was not labeled as manufactured by "Tripp Lite" in the plastic bag it was shipped in. In fact, I doubt if Tripp Lite manufactured it. If they had, it would have been labeled as such. It does work fine, and is very low priced, compared to Radio Shack or Best Buy stores so I wouldn't pass it up because the brand is not on the unit. The ad should be corrected to indicate whether Tripp Lite did manufacture this cable however. The shipping costs more than the cable and should have been lower as this weighs only a few ounces at most. Charging $4.95 for shipping a cable in an envelope is way too much.Customer Review: The right cable? Check.

I originally purchased the Syba SY-CAB40006 cable in order to save a few bucks (I just needed to clone a hard drive and then reuse the old cable). When I received the Syba cable, it was not a SATA cable, it was a power cord! It wasn't the packager's fault, it had the correct serial number.
Anyway, the SY-CAB40006 is under review by Amazon right now, and they agreed to credit my account $4.00 so I could purchase the Tripp Lite cable with overnight shipping. When it comes to cables, there's really not much to review, as others have mentioned.
Is it the right cable? Yes
Is it long enough? Definitely yes
Does it work? Yes
Does it have fiber optics that make your case glow? Nope.

Shipping was on time (came in the last day or day before the estimated time range, which was 2 weeks) to Toronto.
Cable is plenty long and fitted securely.
Not sure if/how to test the transfer rate of 3Gb/s. I tried transferring a file from my other harddrive to this and it maxed out at 60-70MB/s, it could be the limitation in my other hard drive's SATA cable. I ran a performance test on the hard drive and got 100MB/s as the max.
It's my first SATA cable purchase and it works without any problems

I bought this after buying a new hard drive. I am more sued to the older stuff and was amazed to see and read about the new technology. it has been like 5-7 years since i had bought a desktop and in 2002 I had JUSt started learning about computers in college. A newer connection for the newer type of HDDs. Cheap price and just as good or better buying off of amazon than off of the Dell Website (dell inspirion 530 accesory/part). used it to put in a hard drive i had bought at walmart (it didnt come with the cord and was not gonna spend 20-30 bucks for a small cord).Customer Review: Great Cable, Reasonable Price - Highly Recommended!

This "Tripp Lite SATA Cable" is exactly what I needed to install a new hard drive in my HP tower chassis PC. Here are my observations:
+ Good Quality; the cable and connectors are well made
+ Good Length; this is long enough to reach anywhere in my mid-seized tower
+ Inexpensive; even with shipping, this was much cheaper than my local PC store wanted for a similar cable
This cable works well and was easy to install.
