When I originally got the unit the volume was nearly inaudible. I called TomTom tech support and tried several fixes and updates with no luck in fixing the problem. They immediately offered to replace the unit. I know I could have contacted the retailer for a replacement but decided to get the replacement from TomTom. I have since talked to the retailer and am pleased with their concern. The new unit's volume is very good and I am very happy with the TomTom One 130S. I wanted a unit with text to voice at a good price and I am pleased with this purchase.Customer Review: awesome GPS

This is my first GPS. I never knew I would need one, but I've been using it quite a bit already. Used it just recently to navigate in L.A. and that took a lot of stress out of our trip! If you get one, definitely get the one with voice, marked with 's'. The voice is extremely useful as you don't have to look at your display all the time, providing more safety. The display of the TomTom 130s is very good as well. Extremely easy to navigate around the menu. Finds stores and restaurants in places you've never been. Best device I've purchased in a long time. I purchased the TomTom 130S to use on a trip to Nova Scotia. When I first received the unit and was testing it at home I thought that maybe I wouldn't like it. Once reaching my destination and using it extensively I was convinced that it's the best device to use when traveling. This unit even told me that I had to take the ferry from Prince Edward Island to Nova Scotia. I can't wait until I can use it for a trip to Boston or New York City to see how it navigates me through the streets.Customer Review: Worked great AFTER I had to send it back due to low volume

I did weeks of research on GPS systems and even saw many complaints about the volume of this product. But other reviews said it was totally fine. Well, I got a dud. The volume was so low I didn't even know if it was talking at all with the windows down. Luckily, I called Tom Tom customer service, and they had me ship it to them (which cost me about $11) and they replaced it with a new one that does, thankfully, have adequate volume. Would recommend the product overall but beware that there is the potential to get a dud.Customer Review: Speaker volume is LOW!

This is a great unit, for all the reasons listed by other five star reviewers. The routes calculate fast, and the position is quite accurate. BUT, the voice cannot be heard. Period. Volume set to 100%, windows up, radio off, stitting still in the driveway - the voice is garbled and inaudible. If you are going to buy this Tomtom, save your money and buy the Tomtom 130. Who cares if it doesn't say the street names; you can't hear it?
I love the unit. I'm keeping the unit. I only wish I could hear the voices.
