Works like advertised, but it is seriously overpriced.
My husband "had to have" this one because his first name is Tom.
And they say women make stupid purchases.
The only difference between this GPS and the lower priced one, is that this one tells you the name of the street to turn onto. The other one tells you to turn left or right in 500 yards. Obviously, Tom has a problem with judging distance. This GPS has all the bells and whistles but there are cheaper models that work just as well.
I would recommend this for the seriously directionally challenged individual that has to have street names to get from point A to point B.

I recently bought it through Amazon/Crutchfield but was dissapointed! It did not have text to voice as I thought it would. It performed inferior to my Magellan Maestro which was cheaper, although it did have some features such as speed limit (albeit, not always accurate limits) that the Magellan didn't have. The screen was not as bright either and because of the lack of text to speech, I would not recommend it.
I was impressed both by Crutchfield's return policy. No S/H both ways! Can't beat that! I've been told my money has been refunded to my credit card. Thank you Amazon! I'll definitely with you again

I bought the 130s for the fact it has a built in speaker and aides in directing you where you need to go. However the mapping system is an out dated version which has to be updated. After a FULL day of tech support and hearing white lies everywhere (ie. How far away is your DSL from the tower? and etc) I decided to toss this back. Yes it works once open, it shows you everything you wish to see. However when you need to plan a trip from Florida back to Colorado and your home street does not reflect, HOUSTON there is a problem.
DO NOT BUT THIS MODEL!!!!!! Other Tom toms are worth it, such as the 330s

i have a garmin right now and my mother wanted a tom tom so i bought it for Xmas.....asked to use it for a few days i liked it overall but what i didn't like was to much stuff stuffed on the little screen at one time which made it hard to focus on.so if you don't have good eyes you don't want this one. my same size screen on my gamin is so much easier to read but i must say no were nere the features on my garmin, could be its an older unit nuvi 350?the other thing i due miss about the tom tom(which my garmin has) that i it either doesn't have or i couldn't find is mph avg,total miles that my garmin has .....Customer Review: Worth the price I paid

I bought this on a black friday deal from Amazon for about [...] bucks. Money well spent. I am somewhat directionally challenged and used to get nervous about going to new places. But after I bought this one, the text-to-speech version, I am quite worry free about getting lost. However, one thing though, while I have never been lost in Maryland using this, I did get lost in Louisiana. The GPS kept taking to me to the other side of the road, opposite my destinations. Apparently it happens quite often there, so I was told. Not sure why.Something to do with the coordinates not set right,maybe?
