The lack of clear instructions and long download time of the operating program were the two most glaring points made of this GPS. On my computer I had to re-start the download process three times due to errors indicated in the download site. After more than four hours of download time the program was finally loaded and my unit was ready to operate. Then the actual process of setting up a destination and other added tweaks was time consuming, and really more hassle than it was worth. However, once ready, the unit performed flawlessly. But, don`t ever try to do any adjustments while driving because that would be akin to texting while driving. Overall, for the money spent, this is a reasonable unit, but I would choose a different one if I were to consider another purchase.Customer Review: WORKS GREAT. PRICED RIGHT. So good I'm buying another one for my wife's car!! I was just about to buy the ONE 3rd. But was keen on a longer battery life and a smaller unit. WELL TomTom launched this just in time! I researched a lot. I tried a Garmin. But TomTom just seemed more user friendly. Easer and better menus. Software works well on Apple MAC. Finds places fast. Accurate maps. I'm in New Zealand. Could ship with more 'computer voices' as the text to speech is a brilliant and helpful tool. Just 'Samantha' the USA female computer voice isn't that great, a bit old and deep. Higher pitch voices are easier to hear. I love this unit. The window mount is ergonomic and sticks like crazy. The HELP ME parts of the menu are very very clever and useful. Aside from the fact that the carrying case that I ordered didn't fit the Tom Tom, it appears to work OK. Unfortunately, the instructions were a series of ineptly drawn cartoons with no explanation so it has sat on my kitchen counter for 4 weeks well I try and figure out how to install it in my car. It looks like I will have to go to Best Buy to find out about installation. I love the books from Amazon but I will never buy any item, electronics or whatever, that requires any instructions regarding installation or use. By the way, both Amazon and the seller of the carrying case were quick in asking me if I liked the product, but when I told them that it was the wrong case and sent them the name and serial number of the Tom Tom, I never heard from either of them again.Customer Review: What did you say????

After reading the reviews and trying to comparison shop I recently purchased the Tom Tom One 130 S. The first unit I had, the sound level was so low as to be barely audible even at 100%. I spent an hour on the phone with the very nice lady at customer service downloading all sorts of stuff and it made no difference.
Traded it in for another unit and the same. Spent much time on the phone and the second unit was only marginally better.
Can not hear the directions with the windows open.
The Magellan I rented once from Hertz, blew off the windows.
Back this unit will go and my quest will continue.
By the way, other than sound, it performed well.
I'm a first time GPS buyer.

I have owned a TomTom One for almost a year and I recommend it to everyone. In fact, I loaned mine to my son who recently drove across country from Sacramento to Washington DC. He and my daughter (who came with him) loved it so much that he just got one for himself. He is living in a new urban area that he is not familiar with and finds it invaluable. My daughter was so impressed that she is getting one too. One interesting little adventure that the TomTom took them on was coming into the west side of Indianapolis on I-70. The TomTom took them on a shortcut on a major surface street that saved them about 20 miles! They called me and asked me what it was doing and when I went online, I immediately understood the logic of what was happening.
