Customer Review: Small, yet powerful

This is my first GPS unit. I wanted a full-featured but smaller unit I could carry easily in my pocket - this GPS fits the bill. The base snaps on and off for a quick transition from the window suction mount. Very easy to set up and the TomTom Home application for updates, add-ons (voices, icon symbols, etc.) is very easy to use. I purchased it in early June 08 for right under $200 including tax and shipping. The only problem I have had is that the unit will occasionally fall off the suction mount.Customer Review: Poor sound quality

We ordered the first TomTom 130S because we had heard that it was one of the best for the money. When we got it we thought the speaker must have been bad or something. You could barely hear the thing with the volume at 100%. We exchanged it for a new one. The volume is a little bit better with the human voice (but the human voices don't read street names) and not much better with the computer voice. The graphics are good. All and all, I do not recommend this one. Spend your money elsewhere.Customer Review: Excellent entry level GPS with text to speech

This is an outstanding GPS device if you want something that's easy to operate without all the bells and whistles. I mean, who needs to view photos on their GPS?
Anyway, I've had this for almost one year. It hasn't failed me and the software is decent. You can enter your trips over the computer when you are hooked up with the USB.
Sure, there are more advanced models. Yes, I may get one later. But this is a solid GPS for the money.

I can't find voice address entry functionality mentioned in the user guide or anywhere in the device. I bought this unit thinking I could simply speak my addresses aloud.

I personally do not own one of these navigation devices. However I do use one at work (company provided). These things are in no way accurate at all. When I need to make a turn somewhere, the TomTom will tell me to turn after I passed the street or business I was supposed to turn on. Yeah, it will redirect you afterwords. I still have better luck with reading roadmaps and visually searching for an address.
