I got this brand of GPS on recommendation from a user of a previous model. While this GPS appears to be up to the task, I do not like their method of updates.
The unit was just purchased new, and it needs to be updated. This update is so large that on my dial up, the time to download will be about 2 weeks of 24/7 use of my phone line, that is if it doesn't stop quite often at random. My only choice of high speed internet in my location is satellite, which requires a two year commitment.
I called the company to see if the update could be mailed on DVD, and they advised me that my only choice for this update is by download. In other words, if I do not have all the latest bells and whistles, I am left in the dust.
It appears to me that this company is and will be unresponsive to it's customers with ordinary needs, and for that reason, I do not recommend this brand.
The carrying case appears to be very well made.
