Customer Review: Poor AM reception
Summary: 3 Stars

This clock radio has just the right features for me at an attractive price but I was disappointed with its night time AM reception. I like to listen to some talk shows before falling asleep but my favorite station that is between the 700 and 800 band can hardly be heard above the static. Turning the radio in different directions hardly makes a difference. Now I know that many AM stations reduce transmission power at night and reception also depends on the season and atmospheric conditions, but my 35 year old little pocket radio has no problem getting the same station clearly at the same time when this clock radio does not. This is very disappointing to me but I keep it anyway because it is fine during daytime.

Another problem I am having is with the USB mp3 player that does have a REPEAT setting but it never works for me. Instead of repeating a song after finishing it, the player goes to the next song. I wonder if anybody else out there tried it and can confirm the same problem.

Customer Review: Great Radio MP3 player for work, Ok as an alarm clock.
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this as a test alarm clock for my husband, and I knew if he did not like it I would take to to work and use it in my office. My husand did not like that you can't set the alarm to go off multiple days in a row, his old alarm let him set it for just "weekdays" but you can't do that with this. Also the screen did not dim dark enough for him at night. (I ended up buying him a chumby later, they are the most customizable alarm clocks I have found, but not cheap!)
I took this to my office and its a perfect little radio for work. I love that it has a remote, plays from any USB style MP3 player and has a number of preset stations. When looking at it online, I was afraid my MP3 player would not fit into the groove at the top where the USB port is. Turns out the USB port rotates upwards so it doesn't matter what size your MP3 player is, it will fit! There are not a lot of MP3 radios on the market for non-ipod users so I was really glad to find this one!

Customer Review: Great Concept, Could Be Better
Summary: 3 Stars

We purchased this unit for our daughter. We loved the fact that it received SD cards and flash drives, which of course allows for greater flexibility in the music that is played and keeps it smaller than a CD player.

The sound quality is very good, and we have no complaints there.

The problems that we have had with the unit center almost entirely on it's PC-related functions. Sometimes, it will just "freeze", and we have to unplug it (and remove the backup battery) to reset it. Sometimes, for no reason, it will just turn itself on (which is annoying when it does so in the middle of the night). A common problem we experience is a spontaneous restarting of particular songs...it will be playing, about midway through, and then will suddenly go back to the beginning.

So, we like the concept very much, and wish that more companies would enter this market. This unit does a good job, but not a great one. Buy with caution.

Customer Review: okay unit with software bugs
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought it for my kid's room, and she used it for last 5-6 months. It's very convenient as you can plug in usb drive, or sd card and play mp3 files; don't need an ipod & a compatible player. But this unit's software has serious issues.
1. It stops playing all of a sudden. I am yet to figure out why it happens.
2. The most painful one is: freeze till reboot. While playing a song, it gets suck, keep on reading usb drive (I can see usb drive's LED blinking like hell), and does not respond to any button / remote. I unplug power cord, still it remains frozen. I take out the clock batteries for a total reset, and then it becomes working again. Of course you have to set time & zone now. Not fun to do this 3-4 times a week. Now I left only a few mp3 files in usb drive, cleaned up mp3 titles (no special characters in title, artist etc). I am not seeing freeze issue for a week.

Customer Review: Great alarm clock for the MP3 generation
Summary: 5 Stars

When I was 11 the big craze was listening to FM radio and albums - going from AM radio and 45s. Today for my son it is listening to MP3s and carrying data around on flash drives so what better way for him to wake up than to his favorite music on an MP3 player. My son figured out how to get the MP3 playing and set the alarm in a short period so it must be pretty straight forward. The remote works very well and the display is very nice. The sound quality is good for the MP3 songs but as with many alarm clocks the FM reception is ok but not great. His favorite stations are located within good reception range for car or his Sansa MP3 player but it comes in a little less reliably on this radio- so only 4 stars for sound quality. But he needed to start waking up for school on his own without us shaking him out of bed and he is enjoying using it- so mission accomplished.
