Customer Review: Volume Control Issues

CONS:
Durability - after 40 days of use, the volume control stopped working properly. I can only turn the volume up on my AV system now, regardless of whether I am hitting volume up or volume down. I have reprogrammed several times, and cannot get the remote to function properly.
Of course this happened 10 days after the return window expired and as far as I can tell there is no warranty. For $40+ I would expect a remote to function for more than a month. Our TiVo remote that came with the box only lasted 6 months before it died altogether (and yes, I did replace the batteries). Two broken remotes in 7 1/2 months is unacceptable. All of my SONY remotes are still perfectly functional years later. Good thing because now I need to use them to control the volume!
Wouldn't recommend this remote given that several other people have the EXACT same issue that I am having with the volume control. I wish there was a way to make someone replace this defective product!
