Digital Photo Product Details

Manufacturer: ThermoWorks
Model: IRK
Product features:
  • Most infrared meters sold for less than $100 have the emissivity value fixed at the factory for 0.95. That makes them useful for many organic materials but renders them inaccurate when used with any other material. The emissivity setting of the I.R.K. adjusts in 0.01 increments from 0.1 to 1.0. Here's the neat part: if you don't know the emissivity of your material, simply use a contact thermocouple to measure the surface temp, then adjust the I.R.K.'s emissivity value till your infrared reading matches the thermocouple reading. Slick, huh?
  • You also get Max, Min, Hold, Diff, Avg, Hi Alarm, Lo Alarm, a bright laser, diplay backlight and a ?C/?F button.
  • Measuring Range: IR:-76?F to 932?F, -60?C to 500?C, TC:-76?F to 1999?F, -60?C to 1400?C, Response Time: 1 Second
  • Distance/Target Ratio: 11:1 (1" target diameter at 11" distance), 2x AAA, included .
  • Read up to 1999?F with an optional thermocouple, Endless variety of Type K probes are available at theroworks.com
