Customer Review: Works well, but no power switch
Summary: 4 Stars

I use this to cool my PowerBook G4. The laptop is up on a simple stand, but it runs pretty hot; the CPU often runs up to 142+ degrees F, at which point the noisy internal fans turn on. With the little TT fan blowing across the keyboard area, the PowerBook seldom reaches 140 degrees, and the internal fans almost never kick in. The TT fan is nearly silent at its lowest levels, very quiet at the level I use (~halfway up), and not terribly loud even at its highest setting. It's definitely got a DIY-geeky look, but at least it's not geek-bling with pulsing LEDs or anything. My one big knock against it is its lack of an off switch. Seems like it would have been simple enough to have it click off when you turn it all the way down; as it is, I have to unplug it at the end of the day.

Customer Review: Drops A/V cabinet temps by 20º
Summary: 5 Stars

I have an enclosed a/v cabinet and was concerned about internal temps when running a PS3, receiver and other components. I put my outdoor remote temp sensor in the cabinet and routinely saw 110ºF+ temps, so I purchased this and plugged it in to the PS3 USB port and saw a reduction of ~20º. The fan is quiet enough to not be noticed over the sound of other component fans running and the sound is a non-issue when anything is playing. You can plug it in to anything with a USB port but since my PS3 seems to be the big heat generator, I chose to plug it in there. It works very well and is a much cheaper and simpler solution than hard mounting a 120mm exhaust fan and wiring in a thermometer. I'm going to buy another one so I can put a laptop in the cab as well. I recommend 100%.

Customer Review: High airflow for a USB powered fan
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this to sit on top of my Xbox slim right on the exhaust vent to help suck hot air out. It does an amazing job at it. Note, when turned all the way up, you WILL hear the fan through normal volumes when watching TV or playing video games. But it's a white noise that you can easily forget is there.

My only suggestion is that they provide a dial that has a click to off when turned all the way down. That would be ideal so I don't have to unplug it from the USB every time.

When this fan is turned up to about 80% or so, the air coming out of my Xbox slim never gets really hot, only warm.

I plan to get another to help pull exhaust air from my PS3 (fat model).

Worth buying for cooling down entertainment electronics.

Customer Review: Great USB fan!! with tons of air flooding around!
Summary: 5 Stars

this fan is great! i just got it today an hour ago and now testing it on my desktop. (I'm using it for my desktop, you can using it on laptop or any USB plug devices)

the reason i use it for my desktop is because this fan is strong and suck or blow a lot of air. and EASY to clean! cleaning is important to me, if you have a good fan that can accumulate dust and hard to clean that it pretty much is useless! That USB cable can be extended, how long? well never tested yet! but so far i can move around on my desktop and point any direction you want. so basically long enough.

Oh one more thing, the fan speed can be adjust from super low to super strong.

over all, easy to clean and strong fan!!
(work as a little summer fan too) :P

Customer Review: Quiet -- good for small spaces
Summary: 4 Stars

First of all, this fan is not the best looking, nor does it move the most air. That said, it is very quiet and works great for my use. I have some built-in shelving under my desk. These shelves are filled with routers, hard drives, and Airport Extreme, and a power strip with plenty of power supply units. Despite some ventilation holes, the space gets quite warm. I plugged this fan into one of the free USB ports in a hub, and it certainly helps to move the air around the area very well. In an unscientific test, it reduced the air temperature of the shelf by 8-10 degrees in less than an hour, working best when blowing outside air into the space vs trying to pull the hot air out. The best feature is the noise -- very quiet, even when out on top of the desk.
