I took principles of finance over summer term and needed a financial calculator so purchased this one from the recommendation of my professor. It turned out to be a great purchase. The calculator is inexpensive, easy to use and did all the calculations necessary for this class. The BA II plus has all of the necessary features that a finance student might need. It also includes a small quick-reference sheet in the cover, which is helpful. It can be a bit tricky to properly set up compound interest rates, and it tends to round off decimals too much, but its nothing compared to the hassle of trying to do financial math on the TI-83 finance program.Customer Review: Horrible machine

Its so fustrating, you type the same numbers in from examples you get different answers. Is this machine or a joke, I taught of giving this machine a second chance I bought another Caculator even that turned to be junk, wrong calculations.... TI what a llooser.STAY away if you want to pass your CFA
If I use it for my CFA exam i am sure I will fail.

I use this as a Loan Consultant...and its great.It has all the features i need.
The reviewer who says it give the wrong numbers, needs to 'reset' the calculator.
But after a while the calculator does 'die' like any other electronic product and needs to be replaced but i think they can last for a year or so before needing to do so.

I am taking a master's level into to finance course. Its size is perfect - fits in your purse. Has more than enough functions to cover what we are learning in the intro course. I have to say, though, I am happy the professor is talking us through how to use it - I found trying to figure it out on my own using the user's manual to be confusing.
