When I buy something I tend to do a pretty comprehensive job researching the products on the market. These batteries appealed to me because they are some of the strongest you can buy that are rechargeable. If you're looking for D size batteries that will run anything these are the ones. Most rechargeable batteries you find on the market have a 1-3k mAH capacity. Meaning if you go with the Energizer or Duracell rechargeable you're basically getting an AA battery wrapped up in a big shell. Fine for small appliance use like a radio or a baby toy - but if you have something a little more power hungry like a spotlight or lamp forget it.
These batteries take a while to charge, but they last a long time off a full charge and you get more power out of them. If you're looking for a cheap high-end rechargeable these batteries aren't just your best option, they should be your only option.
Make sure, however, that your charger can handle D batteries. Most retail chargers only handle AAA's through C's.
