Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cellsensor EMF Detection MeterCustomer Review: An easy to use device Summary: 5 StarsI recently received my Cellsensor and have been wandering around the house checking various readings and surprised at times what I found - like some fairly high reading near the microwave, even when it's not running. Fun to use and informative with a nice booklet explaining RF and ELF radiation and it's implications.
Customer Review: Ghost Hunting Summary: 4 StarsI purchased this meter to use at a house that is believed to be haunted. I am pleased with the two ranges of measuring ativity that the meter is capable of. And the price was lower than anywhere else I looked.
Customer Review: Good for EMF, not so good for radio/cell phone detection Summary: 3 StarsI bought this device to detect the radiation at my home, but despite it being named "cell sensor", I was unable to detect the cell phone signal from my iPhone 3G. I followed the direction, did the 90 degrees and 8 inch apart as described in the manual, put the probe next to the sensor, put it on the sensitive setting, and... detected nothing. Then during a call, I tried moving the cell phone in all angle combinations... nothing. I thought I had a defective unit, so I requested a replacement, got another brand new unit, and did the exact same thing. Nothing... the needle stays around 0. Same goes with wireless mouse and baby monitors. How do you make a "cell sensor" that doesn't sense a cell phone is beyond me.
On the other hand, this device works well detecting EMF from appliances such as refrigerator, microwave, lights, etc. Not sure it has really helped me avoid EMF energy other than confirm there's EMF emitting from electronic devices, and to stay 6 feet away from the microwave, but otherwise the level is so low typically that there's really not much that needed to be addressed.
If you plan to get this to detect EMF, it seems to work well, although I have nothing to compare it against. On the other hand, if you want to get one to detect wireless radiation, forget it.
Customer Review: as advertised Summary: 5 StarsI bought it for my kid science project. It is an eye opener for the amount of magnetic field around the house especially near microwaves in use.
Customer Review: CellSensor EMF detector is GREAT/inexpensive... TESTS! Summary: 5 StarsI wanted an inexpensive/ HIGHLY SENSITIVE EMF detector, and this is it!
It is more sensitive on than other detectors costing $3x (.1)!
This unit is well made (sorry that the 1 negative reviewer was probably bummed out at not finding a ghost...!), and 3.5' cord makes scanning EASY!
Sturdy enough for a contractor..., with TLC!
The other positive reviewers pretty well covered the features...
I'll post some of MY test results-
Best on High, and results WILL vary by brand...!-
- Found 1 improperly grounded 120v outlet= 4' before, and 2" after fixed.
- House fuse panel was VERY HOT!= 6'+, and I'm glad it's WAY out in the garage! Walls don't stop EMF's!
- Outlets/light switches= 2" before use, and all outlets on circuit are 3' if in use (outlets after used are 2")!
- Microwave oven (vary by brand...)= 6'
- Cell phone (I use mine infrequently )= 2" (HOT) at speaker "FRONT" ONLY! Same on or off, and I'll carry mine facing OUT (Experts say to limit calls to 10min, no kids (thin skulls/ growing brains...!)! Wish mine had a speaker phone!
HMMM?- Tony Snow, and Ted Kennedy both died of brain cancer/tumors!? Wonder which side of their head?
- ALL digital clocks- Large face= 3', and small = 1' !
- Desktop computer tower= 2' (low), and flat panel monitor= 6".
- Laptop computer= Very low, but modem/router was 2'!
- My Older 900mhz cordless phones/base station= Zero, on or off! :o)
2.4ghz+ cordless phones are supposedly VERY HOT(same frequency as microwave oven!)!
- TV's- Older tube type= 4', and 46" flat panel LCD/digital= 1'.
- Light bulbs- Filament= 6", and Fluorescent= 1".
It is a relief knowing..., and kinda fun!
Buy one & see (no, I don't own stock... in the company)!
Scott :o)
