Customer Review: Big, Lots of Room, Fits 17 inch Widescreens Perfectly

I bought this bag to replace a "freebie" microsoft backpack I got at a conference. The microsoft bag wasn't very strong, and didn't have enough space for all my junk that I lug around with my laptop.
I like this bag a lot. First thing I will say is 'yes' to it being huge. You shouldn't be looking at this bag if you carry some wimpy 15.4 laptop and a couple of notebooks. This is made for lots of stuff. Let me give you a rundown of what I typically have in this bag.
1. 17inch widescreen hp pavilion 9810us HP Pavilion DV9810US 17-inch Laptop (AMD Turion 64 X 2 Dual Core TL-60 Processor, 3 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive, Vista Premium)
2. External USB Wolverine Drive Wolverine Data 7080 FlashPac 80 GB Portable Digital Pictures and Data Storage
3. Several pens
4. Several memory cards
5. Several USB sticks (in their own case)
6. 5 or 6 USB cables
7. Maxtor 500Gb external drive for backups Seagate Maxtor OneTouch 4 Lite 500 GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive STM305004OTA3E1-RK
8. 25 foot telephone cable
9. 30GB Zune with earphones and charger/sync cable Zune 30 GB Digital Media Player (Black)

11. Occasionally a big textbook

Now with all that, I still have room for more stuff. Only bad side is that it can get heavy. But I am a big guy, and I don't lug this on my back all the time. I mean, I am not a college campus guy walking to and from classes all the time, so the size of the bag and weight when full are no big deal to me.
There are two things I think are important to note. The bag I received (just a few months ago) is a bit different than the one pictured on the site. One, the earphone port is not in the center of the bag but in the side pocket that zips. I think that is a better location for it anyhow, as you could potentially reach your mp3 player without having to take the bag totally off. With it in the center of the bag, you would probably have to take the bag off or do some awkward reaching. Second, unless I misplaced it, my bag didn't come with the cell phone holder that is shown connected to one of the straps. Not a big deal for me, as there are enough places to put the phone. But if you need quick access, I would suggest you plan on looking for something to clip to the bag to hold the phone. Good news though, there are two rings on each shoulder strap about where the cell phone holder is on the picture. You should be able to use those to secure a phone if needed.
In Summary
Pros:
1. Lots of space
2. Fits 17 inch widescreen laptops nicely
3. Laptop area is padded a bit
4. Feel sturdy
Cons:
1. The front of the pack tends to droop a bit if you load too much in the front pockets. Tightening the two straps doesn't really help.
2. I haven't priced backpacks in a long time, so maybe this is a decent price, however I felt it was a little bit too high.
3. Can get heavy if you load it up - obviously :)
