Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Targus Groove Backpack Case Designed for 16" Inch Laptops CVR600 (Black)Customer Review: Positive Experience Summary: 5 Stars
Overall I am quite pleased with the product.
I use it daily and take it to sites with me. It is lasting a lot of abuse which includes bumpy boat rides and construction environment. By just looking at the pics you don't really get an idea of how big the backpack actually is. I carry my MPB, DSLR camera, some clothes to last couple of days + a lot of papers, portable HD and many others.
If you are looking for a smaller bag then this is not for you. I need to carry a lot of things together and this is proving to be quite useful. As for the built quality I am pleased but I need to get it in the rain one day to check if it is really weatherproof . The manufacture does not rate this as a water proof bag so the user is liable for it's usage. It did survive a couple of drizzles though.
Customer Review: Great if you don't carry an encyclopedia Summary: 4 Stars
I got this backpack about a month ago. The backpack has a lot of pockets and it is very functional. The notebook pocket is well padded and large enough for my 15.4 inch wide-screen Dell. My only concern is the durability of the nylon. The texture is not so flexible, paper like feeling, and it doesn't appear the texture is as strong as a typical student's Jansport backpack. I'm a bit hesitant to put my heavy science textbook in addition to a laptop in this backpack. Overall, this is a great backpack if you don't put heavy stuff regularly.
Update -July 27, 2008
I found the main zipper's seam started falling apart. Besides of laptop, I haven't put that heavy stuff past seven months. As I mentioned before, this backpack may not be as rugged as it appears.
Customer Review: Useful, well-crafted, many nice features, but a bit ugly Summary: 4 Stars
As most others have mentioned, this bag is a really solid value for the $. Its nylon fabric is thick and tough, the bottom panel is waterproof and even more rugged, it has pockets galore with extremely well thought-out little storage nooks everywhere (even on the sides), the straps are comfortable, sturdy, and well attached to the body of the bag, the laptop compartment is decently padded, and it is overall a 5 star bag except for one minor thing - it's rather homely. I'm far from a fashion plate, but even I think this bag could use a little sprucing up in the colors and logo department. That being said, I'd recommend it in a second to anyone. Plus, it fits my widescreen Dell Inspiron 6000 very well - not too snug, not too loose. A real winner in the laptop backpack segment.
Customer Review: Great backpack, and I saved a lot of money. Summary: 5 Stars
I went to Europe for 2 months and took two bags, this being one of them.
It fit my laptop perfectly and fit other things well too, many little compartments to place different things. I walked and even rode my bike everywhere with this, the laptop comfortably in tow at all times.
Before my trip, I looked at very expensive bags, made out of hemp with the words "durable" typed into all of my searches, you name it. I got a lot of bags that were a $100 more or less for a laptop bag and because everyone values their laptop, you want the safest, best bag for it.
Then I came to amazon, found this, read the good reviews and decided to get it.
I saved a ton of money and was very pleased with this backpack. I still use it for work.
Customer Review: Met my needs...and even surprised me. Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a cheap bag that would handle my 12" PowerBook and a few books. Based on other reviews and the price, I went with the Targus and am really glad I did. It has a few extras that I wasn't expecting, one of which is a simple hole in the outer small pocket for headphones. Inside the pocket, I've got my iPod, my Palm handheld, my cellphone, pens and pencils and a hook for my keys. There's a mesh net on the outside of the same small pocket where I can stow the earbuds without zipping them inside.
Other nice features are the water bottle holders (one on each side), paperwork sleeves in two inside compartments, and an expandable design make the backpack easily go from slim to stuffed without problem. I'd recommend it to my friends.
