*This backpack is half the price of almost all other laptop backpacks
*Fits my 15.4" widescreen laptop quite nicely
*has several pockets... on a daily basis, I carry a thick 2 inch binder with 100-200 sheets of paper in it, a statistics textbook and several file folders around in it; also carry a calculator, cell phone and about 20 mixed pens and pencils. Everything fits nicely
*its actually comfortable - with all that stuff, its fairly heavy, but is well padded on the back and well designed so I don't feel like I'm going to tip over
*in response to a previous criticism, the bag got wet for the first time this week and was reasonably water resistant. I'm not confident it could sustain a torrential downpour, but in a bit of rain on my half mile hike across campus, it was fine.

I switched from a more traditional leather bag to this backpack recently and I'm very happy. This bag holds more and feels lighter than the old bag, and in the couple of weeks I've owned it looks as good as new despite many hours on my shoulder.
It holds a ton of stuff - I'm carrying the laptop, power supply, small wireless router, USB mouse, full-size digital camera, various cables, portable hard drive, notebook, DVDs, pens, etc. (Yes, I'm amazed too that I can walk after reading that). It holds all that easily with room for more - there are pockets I haven't touched yet. I could probably fit another laptop in there if I wanted to.
The only reason I've given it 4 stars is its utter lack of stylishness - it's very utilitarian. If that matters to you, this may not be your bag.

I have owned this back pack for over three years. I use it primarily for traveling. I find that getting the lap top in and out of this bag at security check points much easier than other bags I use (for a second lap top). There is plenty of room in this bag for storing essential for both this computer and other electronic items I tend to drag around.
I have used it to transport an older HP 15.4 (fit was rather snug but still easy to get in and out) and a newer HP 14.1. With both laptops I felt the computer was well protected in the bag and I have never had any problems with items being damaged while in the bag.
The many pockets add a great way to organize all the little things. There are also several large pockets allowing for those bigger items as well.

I'm not usually one that comes back and writes a review for something like this, but I am so happy with this product that I feel I have to share. I have been hauling my Dell laptop around for the last 4 months in the "default" bag that I got from Dell. Worked out ok, but I wasn't happy with it - couldn't get enought "stuff" in it (my monitor is the 15.4 inch size and the bag was just too full with just the laptop and power supply in it) so I started looking around. I've been using this backpack for 2 days now and I am kicking myself for not finding it sooner. I've got everything I need for a day, or a short trip in this bag. And at this price, you just can't go wrong. Basically, if you decide that the standard laptop bag isn't good enough, this is a great alternative. I purchased this product as a backup for my $100 leather laptop case and because I saw it listed as a top seller -- it's now my full-time laptop carrying case and I understand clearly why it is so popular.
Well-designed, sturdy and light ... perfect for the office as well as school. Lots of pockets without being gimmicky, ergonomics were definitely a major consideration in product development. It's so much more comfortable than my pricier laptop case and so much more versatile, too. I can carry books, files, lunch -- just about everything but the kitchen sink without getting a sore shoulder.
My purchase price was <$20 with the rebate but I would easily pay twice that with pleasure should I ever need to replace it. Un-be-liev-a-ble. Great for students or as a gift.
