Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of TRENDnet TE100-S5 5-Port Ethernet Switch (5 x 10/100Mbps Auto-MDIX RJ-45 Ports)Customer Review: Great Product. EASY TO USE Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this item because I needed to connect my LCD TV and computer to my AT&T Uverse enternet. I was tired of moving my enternet connection back and forth. This divice is like a splitter and allows you to connect up to 4 devices (i.e. laptop, xbox, enternet capable TV) and all work at the same time. This device is EASY to use, literally plug and play. You plug in the power cord and connect all ethernet connections in any slot and your ready to use your devivces. Just remember to purchase a ethernet wire for every device your connecting. The item is suprisingly small approx. 3"x5". I'm very hapy with the product and it's just what I needed. I purchased the item for less than $13, great deal!
Customer Review: Great affordable, small switch Summary: 5 Stars
I had one network connection in our master bedroom for the DVR. Adding a Wii to our set up, and my wanting to add it to our network required me to get a switch.
I didn not need a huge switch, with all of the bells and whistles. Just a simple switch that was unobtrusive and that would work.
This switch fit the need.
Very easy to install, and secured a good connection immediatly. Was able to add the Wii to it with just the plug of a wire.
It has been very stable, and does not run that hot.
If you are looking for a good priced way to add more network connections in your home, this would work for you.
Customer Review: works but fragile components Summary: 4 Stars
Worked great for an hour. Plug and play as others has testified. Unfortunately, then because of an odd set of circumstances of reorganization of various devices in my system, I accidently plugged in my modem's AC power convertor into this switch's AC port (they are exactly the same size). Unfortunately it did not like it, and in fact within a minute, smoke was coming out of the unit...by the time i realized my mistake the unit was fried. This was totally my mistake, but was shocked that the same size AC convertor plugs are not designed to carry the same amp load! So be careful--the switch is obviously not resistant to stupid mistakes!
Customer Review: Works Fine Summary: 5 Stars
Ordered it Friday (Tiger Direct $9.99 + $7.xx Shipping), got it Tuesday. I plugged an e-net cable from my DSL portal/modem(which has a USB jack and an e-net jack and it's hooked to my main computer upstairs via USB cable)into port 1, my basement computer(WindowsVista)into port 2, My son's X-Box 360 into port 3. Each of the three kids are now online at the same time even though the quick setup guide said it wasn't designed for multiple computers to share an internet connection and you should use a router. I read that after I had ordered it so I was unsure if it'd work at all. It's tiny and it works fine so I'm set for under $20.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
Ordered this as I had a single internet line and I had to link a WD TV Hub, PS3 and a cable modem that needed an internet connection.
It is very simple to use. Plug the incoming internet line into any one of the 5 ports, and connect the other devices to the remaining 4 ports of the switch.
I did a lot of web search for one piece of information about this device - is it universal power? Even the trendnet website does not have this information. The unit that I received had an AC adapter that is rated for 100-240v - can be used anywhere....
Hope that helps...
