I would highly recommend this tester to anyone who is on a budget but needs a reliable tester to check network cables. I did not use the tone generator function, but it worked great with the included remote for identifying the cables. The included carrying case keeps everything together, and its light weight makes it a welcome addition to nearly any shoestring budget IT kit.Customer Review: Great product

The TRENDware Cable Tester works as advertised. It supports standard ethernet and coaxial (comes with adapter plugs). The "auto" mechanism to successively test the various wires works well. The tone generator is very effective in figuring out which cable to connect - once you get to other end of it somewhere else in the house (this save you from having to switch to another tone generator). Nice packaging to neatly keep everything together. Very happy with the purchase. Also was a reasonable deal. Recommended.Customer Review: Convenient and easy to use

This product was very helpful. It made checking out an existing network very easy. This tool saved us time and money. We were able to check out existing connectins as well as new ones. We were able to use existing wiring and not start for scratch. The previous reviews really helped in the decision to purchase this item. With a radio station with the cables all running under the floor and through a crawl space, we needed to test an endless tangled array... this allowed us to figure out exactly where the problems were and where they weren't... and it worked like a charm.
