Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of TRENDnet Bluetooth USB Adapter TBW-101UB (Blue)

Customer Review: Could not get it to consistently work...
Summary: 1 Stars

Installation was a hassle, with very poor documentation as to what all the different programs being installed were for. My goal was to connect my new Motorola Q smartphone. I tried it on my laptop, got it to work once, then it wouldn't anymore and blue-screened my computer. Took it to work, tried to install on an HP desktop, same results - worked once, then blue-screened the machine. I returned this product to Amazon.

Customer Review: Item works really well
Summary: 5 Stars

This adapter is able to connect to my Plantronics Bluetooth headset so I can listen wirelessly to audio on my computer. This also works with two other bluetooth devices that I use: my printer (I have the Belkin USB Printer adapter) and my cell phone (for transferring video and pictures to my computer).

This product works like a charm. I highly recommend it, especially being that it costs just over $20.

Customer Review: Does not work with Nokia 3650 PC Suite
Summary: 1 Stars

Although I have been able to connect via Blue Tooth, using the Trendware Adapter, and transfer pictures from my 3650 to me PC, the Trendware device does not appear to work with the Nokia PCSuite software which allows transfer of address information (business cards) etc.

I have tried to find out if the Trendware device is SPP compatible (required for PCSuite) but found their Technical Support web site to be down.

Customer Review: Software & adapter both have problems
Summary: 1 Stars

Tried on three computers (XP SP2, XP SP1 and Win 2K). Bluetooth stack software from CD or website would not install at all on XP machines and only grudgingly on 2K. Eventually discovered adapter itself was dead (although the OS was able to see the adapter the bluetooth radio and lights would not come on).

The Belkin adapter I've had for a year has never had a problem. You get what you pay for.

Customer Review: Good adapter, not the pictured model
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a pretty good bluetooth adapter. It feels solid as opposed to cheap, and comes with a few inches of USB extension cable so the module doesn't block nearby USB ports. However, the model I got isnt the same as in the picture. Instead of being smooth and rounded, it is similar to a rectangular box with corners, where its cap and end opposite the cap is somewhat rounded.
