I was pleased to find this Bluetooth adaptor came with it's own USB extension cable which was helpful... It worked exactly as described in the instruction manual, found my phone immediately... Works fast as well... I saw some comments about needing a passkey, upon searching the internet I found that you just need to make sure you type in the same passkey for the adaptor and the device in question - there is no set passkey, it's whatever you type in as long as they are the same for both devices... The passkey issue was something that worried me when I first ordered the device via Amazon but the price was just too good to pass up - I figured I could lose the $20 if it came down to that (which it didn't thankfully)... *smile*Customer Review: Confusing Software, but decent quality vs. price

The overall profile of the adapter is very nice, perhaps having the ability to attach it to a keychain would be a nice addition. Very easy to lose the cap though.
The software footprint by most stardards is HUGE, you don't feel it is native to the OS, it takes quite a bit of memory in my opinion. The documentation is sparse, so if you are a beginning user, I would spend more money and get something with better documented, easier to use software.
Overall the product works well, the range is adequate. It works great teathering my phone PPC6700, not so doog with my bluetooth headset HS820.
If you are more of an advanced user, I would recommened this, based soley on price.

I'm afraid this is going to be an incredibly dull review; what makes a review interesting are the odd problems, idiosyncrasies, and difficulties you experience with a product.
The TrendNet USB adapter doesn't have any.
I bought this for my G3 iBook, to sync my Address Book with my cell phone. I plugged it in, and it worked. No drivers to install. No software CD to load. You just plug it in, run the Bluetooth setup wiz, and You've Got Bluetooth.
In fact, it was more reliable than the built-in Bluetooth in my iBook G4, which, until the most recent OS 10.4.7 patch, would randomly disappear and require a reboot.
What more could you ask for?

XP SP2 on a Compaq laptop. I'm an IT Professional and Windows developer, so I'm pretty knowledgable about drivers and such. This product is a dissapointment. Trying to connect to my Motorola V330 is very hit and miss. Occasionally it works perfectly. Plug it in, finds the phone, hooray. But 95%+ of the time it can't find the phone. I'll work with it for a couple of hours, installing, re-installing, modifying which drivers its using, etc, and eventually I might get it to work. But then the next day it won't work anymore. Kind of like going back to the early days of Windows 95. If I had to do it all over again, I'd definately spend the extra $20 and get a more proven device.Customer Review: Terrible

I mean i got it to work somehow but definitely NOT satisfied. it is not Windows digitally signed so it gives you problems. For example when the device is plugged i can't use my usb keyboard. i have to unplug it (not only shut off, it has to be physically disconnected)...
i emailed the tech support about it and unless they solve the problem by tomorrow, i am returning it and getting a windows compatible one. i mean it works with windows (i have XP pro SP2) but not good... spent the entire day with this problems...
pay $15 more and get a good one!!! i hope tech support will solve it but i doubt it cuz i think if they could they would have done it already...
