Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of TRENDnet 54 Mbps Wireless G Broadband Router TEW-432BRP (Blue)Customer Review: Difficult installation could have been prevented Summary: 3 Stars
Installation took forever. It involved time consuming attempts to find the required Pin # in what was provided on box and paperwork. None. And no contact info from the manufacturer.
Had to call seller for a phone contact, and then deal with a customer service rep who couldn't explain why they omitted this necessary information, but suggested a complex way to do it online. Since this router wasn't installed and working had to reinstall the old one to do this.
Bottom line. It's now installed and working. It's rated at 54 mbps, but mostly runs at 48 and as low as 24. The reason for this is not known and may involve factors other than the router itself. But overall performance is average. Not any better than the old one which was being replaced
Customer Review: not bad Summary: 5 Stars
This has been a great router, the initial cd setup stinks, and never worked for me. It's easier to set it up via web browser.
The mac address filtering is a nice feature, the ability to turn off the ssid is a nice plus, in attempts to keep unwanted traffic from connecting.
Overall the performance has been great, I can go anywhere in the house and still have a decent signal.
I read the reviews about this router dropping connections, but I have yet to have a single time being dropped off.
My biggest concern was connecting my wii to the internet along with my cell, and both connect flawlessly.
Overall I think this is a great wifi router for anyone looking to go from wired to wireless or just looking to upgrade their wifi.
Customer Review: bad company Summary: 1 Stars
TRENDnet 54Mbps Wireless G Broadband Router ( TEW-432BRP Version D1.0R) i spent 5hrs with this company getting the type and models for setting a wireless printer lan after spending over $400.00 on items they said i would need. and waiting for over a week to recieved items it would not set up.
i have been working in computers since 1978 and have taught them in hs and coll. I talked to there tech people for about 4 hours it boiled down to the items would not work with windows vista or window 7 they had no ambission to get it ceterfied in any future. they also would not take items back. becareful what you hear from them they will do anything to make a sale
Customer Review: Never ever trust Trendnet rebates Summary: 3 Stars
This product works fine just like every router! The reason why I choose this over Linksys was that I was getting for $9.99 after $25 rebate. But guess what the rebate was valid till 08/31 I bought it like on 08/25 and I sent the buy.com receipt(dated 08/25). The condition was it should reach them before Oct 1st or at-least it should have been post marked. Everything I sent was fine and while signing on the TrendNet I signed the September date which was fine since nowhere they mentioned tht signing with Sept date would invalidate the rebate and now they are not honoring and returning the money.
Bottom line is this Trendnet rebates are scam, they seduce u to buy their product by using this rebate thing and they never honor it.
Customer Review: Good Little Router Summary: 4 Stars
Cheap router, good download speeds, basic functions.
I'm using this router with my DSL PPOE connection. Initial setup was a breeze until I kept receiving an error message from the provided install disk (which proved worthless for setting up a wireless connection). A call to customer service as well as info gathered from other reviews lead me to page 26 of the Quick Start Manual where under Q2 you can find all the info to the web configuration page and setup a WAP password. After configuring the web setup page, everything was a breeze.
Download speeds are about the same as my Linksys Wireless Router. I've only had this unit for a day now, but so far so good. I will update this review if any major changes happen.
