Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of TRENDnet 54 Mbps Wireless G Broadband Router TEW-432BRP (Blue)Customer Review: Value for money, nothing fancy Summary: 4 Stars
I was very confused about getting a good router, considered many options ranging from Linksys to Netgear to Belkin (I previously had a Belkin, it was an epic fail). I found out about Trendnet, it was way cheaper and served my purpose of a normal day-to-day router. It doesn't really have as many functions as a high-end consumer router, but it is well-suited for home usage. If you are running a small business from home, for example, you do not want to get this. My experience with cheap products in the past has almost entirely been bad, but this one has yet to disappoint me. I would predict the longevity of this router to be about a year. All in all, it's good value for the money. Especially if you're just interested in setting up a basic home network with up to 4 devices connected at a time.

This router is great! The shipping was extremely fast. I ordered it Tuesday evening and it arrived on Wednesday morning. Amazing. That was only standard shipping, and it was free too because I qualified for "Free Super Saver Shipping." It was really simple to set up, all I had to do was plug it to my cable modem, my computer, the outlet, and connect the antennae. It was almost instantly ready to use. But the main reason I bought it was for the wireless internet, so I looked into the Quick Installation booklet that came with it, and in like 2 minutes I was done. The instructions were real easy to follow. So I now have wireless internet, and it was extremely easy and cheap too. This router is priced about 10 to 50 dollars under the price of other routers! So far it works great!
Customer Review: A great deal for $25 Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this router to replace a Hawking HWR54G that appeared to have intermittent wireless access. The HWR54G was operated with the Hawking HWREG1 repeater for year or two. I found that the TrendNet router worked well with the the Hawking repeater, actually better than the Hawking router ever did. (This is surprising because it is usually the case that same-mfg pairs of router/repeater are optimal.) All my problems went away. So I have nothing bad to report. However, the real test will be whether the router stays good- sometimes routers slowly degrade, due to heat or some other cause. But for $25, this is a very good deal. I'm thinking of buying another as a spare, because it's a real pain to debug problems when a router degrades, unless you can swap in a spare.
Customer Review: all right and cost efficient Summary: 3 Stars
It was easy to set up when I did not choose to enable security features. But be sure to read the manual if you have no wireless router setup experiences.
However, it seemed to me WEP (wired equivalent privacy) did not work. I had to choose WPA-PSK, which is technically a better choice. It was very painful for me to set it up. I eventually had to upgrade all my wireless adapter's driver and configuration utility, and give up Microsoft's wireless zero configuration. I often need to restart the router to get connection.
So far I have not been able to identify that it was a problem of the wireless adapters or a problem of the router. But if you do have some knownledge of wirless networking, I would recommend you it because it is quite cheap after all.
Customer Review: Easy Enough a Caveman Can Do It. Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this router for my daughter who lives in another city. She had tried to configure the WiFi set up that came with her modem and neither one of us could figure what the heck was wrong. So I told her when she was ready, I could walk her through the set up over the phone. I have an Associates Degree in Computer Technology with all the Cisco Labs completed, so I figured this could be an all-nighter coaching someone who never set up ANY network. The next evening I got an email from her that said "Woohoo, I'm a functioning idiot!". She said she had it installed and running in less than 1 hour, and it was running great. I suggested she pull in the signal for security (she lives on a corner)and so far, everything is working fine. I am satisfied with this product.
