Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of TRENDnet 54 Mbps Wireless G Broadband Router TEW-432BRP (Blue)Customer Review: A great value! Summary: 4 Stars
I was looking for an inexpensive, simple to use wireless router in order to connect my desktop and laptop with my DSL. This router was a great price with the rebate, and proved very easy to set up. The wizard guides you through not only setting up the router, but setting up shared files and printers between computers. Of note, the networking software included with the router installs with full access to all functions, however if you don't subscribe to the service within 30 days, some of the functions are disabled after the 30 days (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). Not a problem since all the networking can be set manually through Windows XP if you prefer, but the included software does make networking a bit more user-friendly. Overall, I highly recommend this router. The signal is plenty strong for my 4 room condo. The user support is fairly responsive, too, with 24x7 availability; they were able to guide me through setting up the router security after I had some initial trouble with the step-by-step instructions offered on the website.
Customer Review: Not worth it Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this as a Black Friday special to replace a Linksys Wireless B router. I didn't need to but it was cheap so I did.
Pros:
-Setup was very simple; much easier than the Linksys router. The CD walks any user through the process, regardless of that individual's IT expierience.
-The signal is very strong; I can connect to this router with full strength from anywhere within my apartment (approximatley 800 sq. feet).
Cons:
-Singal constantly drops or locks up. I am often surfing and my laptop will disconnect; when I try to reconnect I am unable to do so. The router has to be restarted and for those of you who have done it you know it is a time-consuming process. The router, cable modem, and both computers have to be restarting. Takes all of 10 minutes.
To me it just wasn't worth it. I am using my linksys router again and will probably do so until I NEED to replace it. When that happens, I will most likely go with another Linksys product as Linksys has never given me an issue.
Customer Review: When I replace this router, I am going to distroy it like in the movie Office Space Summary: 1 Stars
Firstly, this thing worked for 2 weeks with no problems. Then it slowly began to start dropping the internet connection, & it started getting worse over time. Updates did nothing except give you false hope which adds insult to injury with any bad product. I have had this router for about a year now & it drops the connection on average every 3-5 minutes. It is a headache to deal with...especially when it takes up to 10 times of me turning off my wireless card (air port card) on my Macbook just to get it to re-establish any kind of a connection to the internet, and what really gets me mad about this product is that after all that effort, occasionally the signal drops as soon as it is working again and you have to repeat the process...AGAIN! Turning the power for the router off and on over and over does nothing either. Useless product...I bought a Linksys WRT54G2 and it should be here tomorrow. If you have seen the movie "Office Space" I am SO GOING TO TREAT THIS LIKE THE OFFICE FAX MACHINE with a wood baseball bat, seriously.
Customer Review: Not reliable Summary: 1 Stars
This wireless router has a great price, but the price doesn't matter if it's not going to work! You should be able to take a wireless router out of the box and plug it in and if there's no security turned on - get a wireless signal. I followed all of the setup instructions, and it was working fine for a my home pc with a networking wire. But the wireless didn't work from the start. After making several changes and turning on wireless WPA2 security it worked for 1 hour. Then with no changes and no lost power, it stopped working. I played with the settings, and changed the password, and it started working again. It worked for 24 hours, and then stopped working again. All of the settings are exactly the same, it's just extremely unreliable when it comes to broadcasting a wireless signal. I'm a computer support technician, so I know how to setup a wireless network - this device is just cheap and useless. I would recommend a slightly more expensive device that is at least going to work reliably!

TRENDnet 54Mbps Wireless G Broadband Router ( TEW-432BRP Version D1.0R)
With little to no knowledge of wireless routers, I did a quite a bit of research in an attempt to find the right product for my needs. I do not do a lot of gaming or downloading, and was simply looking for a product that would allow me to shop, do research, etc. on line from anywhere in my home. I chose this particular model based on consumer reviews, product capability, and cost. So far, it has performed exceptionally. The installation required a little more work than expected. The install CD provided kept locking me up, but once I called tech support I was up and running within a half an hour. In addition, the tech support staff I worked with was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to take their home network wireless.
