Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of TRENDnet 2-Port USB KVM Switch Kit (Includes 2x KVM Cables) TK-207K (Blue)Customer Review: be careful if you have DVI equipment Summary: 4 Stars
Well, this isn't the company's fault. I was a little too hasty (and cheap) when buying this product. My computers and monitors have DVI connectors. I had more than enough spare adapters to cover the computers, but wasn't able to find one to marry the monitor to the switcher because the M/F is opposite than what is typical. I could probably order one from somewhere, but I don't think it would be worth the extra money because the quality would be diminished anyway.
So, if you have an older or cheaper monitor, this will probably work well. But if you are using a monitor that only has a DVI connections, you might want to invest in a DVI KVM switcher. I hear Gefen has good ones.
Customer Review: Works good Summary: 5 Stars
Shipped real quick, 2 days, I did not pay extra for fast shipment. Easy to set up and easy to use. I bought a new computer and still need the old one because it has a floppy disk that I need for my embroidery machine. I only have room for one monitor so now I can switch back and forth between the computers in seconds. If I had to complain the only thing that would have been better is if the cords were a little longer. I have the computers on the bottom part of the desk and the monitor on top and it is a TIGHT fit with the cords so short, and there isn't room on top of the desk for the computers to fit. Even with that I'm very pleased with the product and the price!!
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this product to shift between my netbook and my desktop. This product works flawlessly. I hooked up my wireless mouse/keyboard dongle in one usb port and my printer in the other and am surprised by the response time. My computers recognize the items almost immediately. The product is well worth the money, my only negative would be that there is no audio hook-up to transfer my one set of speakers between the two, but there are other ways around that.
Pros:
Ability to hook up my wireless mouse/keyboard and printer
Quick response to switching devices
Small and compact
Cons:
No audio hook-ups
Customer Review: It solved my problem Summary: 4 Stars
This product has worked like a dream. I am easily able to switch between my work laptop and my school laptop and keeps me from having 4 screen spread across my desk. I didn't have any other problems that other people claim to have, It worked just fine on my xp and my windows 7 machine (the two I was switching from) though my xp machine would take a little bit longer to register the keyboard and mouse that I had plugged into it. It is small but has a bunch of bulky wires coming off it, so it is really hard to find a good place to put it. It lasted me a year and hasn't gone out on me, thought I only switched back and forth around 5 times a day at most.
Customer Review: I guess you get what you pay for Summary: 1 Stars
Run, do not walk away from this switch. Had a PS/2 port go out on one of my computers so I was no longer able to use my old Belkin KVM. Read the reviews here and decided for under $20 I would take a chance on it. Big mistake. Have had it hooked up for less then 4 hours and have had to repeatedly unplug the cables to get it to "sync" back up. If you do a lot of switching back and forth, which I do because I have one computer for work and the other for play, the lights will just start to flash and the computer will not recognize the mouse and keyboard. So I've had to unplug the cables and few times already to get it reset.
