Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Transcend 8 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS8GSDHC6ECustomer Review: Who'da thunk? A tiny solution for all storages.. Summary: 5 Stars
I've only recently moved away from the world of tapes and discs as recording mediums. With last months purchase of a new flash-based camcorder, I finally moved into the world of SD and microSD cards. Compared to tapes which need to be rewinded and handled with extreme care, SD cards is in it's own world in terms of convience and storage.
This Transcend model 8GB has worked perfectly this past month. Everything recorded is stored properly by this SD card. Once I am done with my recording I transfer the footage to my hard-drive and the SD card is free and open for a new round of recordings. 8GB gives about 2 hrs recording time for my camcorder at the highest setting, just right. This is a great item.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
This product works very well. The only problem I had was when I took it to Walmart to print photos, the computers could not read it directly. When I inserted it into the slot, the computer froze. I took it to CVS and it did the same thing. I was frustrated. However, I decided to us my SD card reader instead and it worked perfectly. Since then I have not experienced any problem. It works fine with my computer and camera.
I recommend it to any one who takes lots of pictures and like video recording like me. I recorded one hour video and it was great. I don't have to worry about deleting pictures to create more space. I have plenty of space. Go for it!
Customer Review: Great product at a great price Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered 3 of these though with some apprehension since I've never previously owned any Transcend products. However now that I've been shooting 100s of pictures with my 12 megapixel SLR I can say that these are great cards for a very good price. At this class level these memory cards are super speedy for action shots, something that a nice set of Blue Angels pictures I snapped using these cards proved.
The only drawback and I'm assuming it's because the cards cost $15 each is that they don't come with the usual containers that other SD cards include. Annoying but fortunately I had enough containers from old SD cards that I could re-purpose but be forewarned!
Customer Review: Works well with Canon Power Shot SD1100 Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this card for my Canon Powershot SD1100 since the memory card included with the camera only holds less than 32 MB. THIS 8GB baby holds 3000+ pictures with the image quality set to the highest. If you set the image quality to one of the medium settings on the camera (still good quality), it can hold 5000~9999+ depending on which setting its on.
One note though is that when I check the space on my Canon, Windows, and my Mac, it reports the capacity as only 7.5 GB, not 8GB. I'm not sure if this is just because they can't read past 7.5 GB or if the card really only have 7.5 GB, but its still a TON of space so I'm not complaining. Guess they rounded up!
Customer Review: Transcend 8GB Class 6 SDHC Card Works in a Nuvi Summary: 4 Stars
I like this card. Not too expensive for the capacity (I paid less than $22) and the transfer speed seems okay (packaging rates it at 16MB/s). I bought it to add some music to my Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS and it works great for that after a one-day test. Some cards claim much faster transfer rates, so I gave it 4 stars. It took me several minutes to load a bit over 1 Gig of MP3s using the card slot in my notebook. I don't really have anything to compare that to, so you be the judge. The Garmin accepted everything without any format hassles--it just worked. The packaging was a joy, came in a little reusable plastic case suitable for storage when not in the device. Recommended.
