Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Transcend 8 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS8GSDHC6ECustomer Review: Great Card - Fast Transfers Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product. The transfer rate from the card to my computer is a whole lot faster than an older, slower 1 Gig card I was using.
I have a SLR camera and tested this card against my slower card and the picture taking/recording rate was about the same. I think the newer DSLR cameras have a buffer so the speed of the card really doesn't affect the speed at which a few pictures are taken.
However, with a lot of pictures on the card, it's nice to have a fast transfer rate when I'm copying the pictures to my hard drive.
The 8 Gig storage is great. I can store over 2,000, 10.2 megapixel pictures on the card.
Customer Review: Great value Summary: 5 Stars
This is my second Transcend card and I am very happy with the performance and the value. I've been using the first one in an Zoom H2 recorder and have found it's performance to be dead on reliable. I bought this new card for my Canon Rebel Esi and am extremely happy with it. In another review someone mentions having a little difficulty with the card hanging in the slot of their Canon but I have experienced no such difficulty.
I love the simplified packaging! My first card came in the original packaging and was a real PITA to open. Kudos to Transcend for a great card at a great price and to Amazon for the packaging.
Customer Review: Let me caution You... Summary: 3 Stars
I am writing to caution any one purchasing this product. This 8Gb SD card works fine, BUT I did not realize that SD cards vary in price based on how much memory you want and how fast they write (writing speed). In other words this card works, but I am using a 12 mega-pixel camera and when I take a picture I have to constantly wait for the image to write to this SD card because it is one of the slower ones on the market. DO YOUR RESEARCH, you don't want to have to deal with data downloading while trying to capture consecutive shots. Like I said it works fine, but it's slower and that's why it seems so "nicely" priced for 8GB.
Customer Review: Works Just Fine in My Xacti CG6 Summary: 5 Stars
There isn't much to say about an SD card. Either it works or it doesn't. This one works just fine for me in my Sanyo Xacti CG6 hybrid video/digicam. No problems for me. I should note that the CG6 is NOT an HD resolution camera - 640 x 480 only.
One point to keep in mind, and I knew this before I bought it but didn't think about it until after, is that these high capacity (>2mb) SD cards are not readable using older card readers. I can't use it in my portable card reader or in the built-in card reader on my 3 year old computer. I must connect the camera to a USB port in order to copy files from this card to my computer.
Customer Review: Great for the mini-cam's--great price and package. Easy to use. Summary: 5 Stars
Transcend is a AMAZON staple, and I find their SD cards to be superior to other (sometimes bargain) brands.
I have used this card in Kodak's Zi6 camcorder with great results, as well as a Fuji camera z20xd. Very easy to use, and AMAZON frustration free packaging, is a huge plus, particularly if this is a gift.
I have recorded over and over on the card, and have not seen a problem with image quality - if anything, it is me being lazy and not wanting to delete things, or burn to DVD. *am I the only one?*
This card is handy, and well worth considering.
