Two things attracted me to the Transcend TS8GSDHC6-S5W memory card with card read. First was the low price for an 8GB Class 6 SDHC card; second was the included card reader. I'm always in the market for high capacity memory cards for use in both digital audio recording and for video recording with my Canon 800IS digital camera. I purchased two of these devices and immediately put them to use in recording performances of an entertainer aboard the American Queen steamboat. The cards performed flawlessly and the reader allowed me to share the files with the entertainer whose laptop was not equipped to read SDHC cards.
I recommend this product to anyone in the market for high capacity SD cards at a low price.

The product is great. Very simple to use and provides plug and play for Digital Camera SD Memory cards with your computer rather than having to mess about with cables.
If you have more than one camera and are typically used to finding the right time to link every thing up including using the AC adapter for the camera during the transfer of images then the Transcend Card Reader is a real bonus. Take the SD Card straight from the camera and plug striagh in to the PC. Down load the pictures just like copying files from one directory to another,(delete files simply as well), and then slip the memory back in the camera. Its also hugely useful if you need to copy big files from one computer to another.

The Transcend 8gb card and card reader arrived today and the first thing I did was to format the card in my Canon SX10 camera. I took a couple of shots and then took the card out and placed it in the card reader and then into the USB slot on my laptop(Windows XP Pro OS). Card and reader works fine and my laptop had no trouble reading the card. After reading some of the reviews I was afraid it would not work in my laptop but no problem. I knew from previous experience that the card alone would not work in my laptop nor my desktop(XP Media) since neither will read a High Capacity card. Both will read a 2GB card but not anything higer. I can't speak for the writing speed of the Transcend but after I use it some will report back.Customer Review: Flawless performance Does everything it is supposed to do!

I've been using this card for about 7 months in my New Lumix Z28 camera. It has worked flawlessly at all times. I'm still amazed that I can set my camera to 10 megapixel and highest quality possible and still get over 1000 photos on the card!. It's also great for shooting videos.
I also use it as a general purpose drive when it's not in my camera.
I have one neutral comment: I would hope that future cards will read and write data faster. This would improve the time between photos. That an issue of the technology and not this specific card. I'm looking for faster memory cards in the future.

I have used this sdhc card and reader and they work perfectly. I did make sure to format the card with my camera. Also, at least on my camera, you aren't suppose to take the card out while the power is on or you could corrupt files and lose them. Some people said they lost their photos with this card and I wonder if their camera does the same as mine does if you take it out while the power is on.
For MAC users, this SDHC card is great if your camera isn't mac compatible. I have a camera that takes video in avhcd lite and i have to use a card reader to get it from the card to my mac. the pictures can be downloaded directly from the camera but not the video. So for me, having this reader is very helpful.
