Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Transcend 8 GB 133x CompactFlash Memory Card TS8GCF133Customer Review: Good for the price Summary: 5 Stars
Transcend TS8GCF133 8GB 133x Ultra Speed Compact Flash Card
I bought this for my Canon Digital Rebel XTi SLR. I previously used a Sandisk Ultra II 1GB card and needed extra storage. Instead of spending almost the same amount on an Ultra II 4GB or an Extreme III 2GB/4GB, I read the reviews about this card and decided to purchase it. Could not be happier. The recording times are faster than the Ultra II, and speeds copying to the PC through a card reader is more than adequate. Might pick up another as a backup.
Customer Review: Disappointed and perplexed Summary: 1 Stars
I recently bought a used Canon D30 and wanted to get a card with greater capacity and bought this....but it just doesn't work with the camera at all...In fact when I reformatted it, it reverted to a 2GB card! (It reformats as a 8mb on a 40D, go figure!) It worked for a little short bit, but now I'm getting errors again. I'm destined to keep using my old 128 mb cards till I find one that works. No, it's not the camera ...it works great in all other areas....and with the smaller CF cards.
Just wanted to put it out there cuz this card won't be the 'end all' for everyone...
Customer Review: Works as Promised - Inexpensive Summary: 4 Stars
I'm using this monster-sized flash card in my Sony Alpha 350, and have had no problems with the ~1000 photos I've taken thus far.
It's quick enough to not cause any delay problems, despite the 12 MB photos the camera is taking. I can snap about 1 photo per second with it, and more if I lower the quality of the shot.
When transferring photos back to my computer, I was pleased (not super-impressed) with how fast it finished.
There might be faster cards out there, but this was just fine for my needs and the massive storage is great to have.
Customer Review: Failed after first use. Summary: 1 Stars
Card failed after just one use. I plugged the CF card into my computer and started downloading the 2 dozen pictures on it. In middle of the transfer the card stopped funtioning and locked up. Afterwards the card would not funtion in camera, computer or format. I've done this many times with my Sandisk CF card with no problems. (Update) Transcend tech support sent me a new one and the first time using it it died mid-way downloading the pictures to my computer. I lost nearly 150 valuable pictures and hours of work. I will go bad to using my smaller Sandisk CF in my camera.
Customer Review: Works in 2010 Mercedes Benz E Class Summary: 5 Stars
After much searching to find a card and adapter to work in the COMAND Sysytem in my 2010 Benz, I gave this a try. I bought it along with an 8gb Transcend CF Card. They worked flawlessly. Others have reported many problems trying to get any of these things to work in the COMAND system. I loaded it up with 7.5 gb of music (which is its full capacity) and now I never have to listen to another commercial on radio. MB wants 100 bucks for the adapter and another 40 for a 2 gb card. This combo came out to less than 40 bucks. Highly recommend....
