I purchased a couple of these cards in august. Since then, i have had them replaced twice by the seller and now again i have them ready to go back to the manufacturer. The cards seem to be very unstable. This causes the cards to lose their File allocation table in the middle of a file copy. This has happened once inside the camer, and twice each on the computer CF reader. While they work, they work well. None the less, after the last Failure each, and after using file recovery software to retrieve most of my data (images only) i cant format either card any longer.

I can appreciate Transcend providing such cards at a lower cost for us budget minded users, but quality must be kept high. at this point i cant recommend this product.

This Transcend 8GB Flash Card has been great. I have not had any problems with it what so ever.
Speed wise: While shooting I never have problems I'm shooting with a 40D with 10 Megapixel Raws which gives between 500-600 RAW files. For jPegs the camera can not even count how many it can possibly take. Well over 1000.
The only downside is when you are doing a transfer to the PC. It can take a few minutes. But what do you expect for an almost full 8GB card. Try copying 8GB between HD's.
And the only other downside, with all these RAW files I'm having to upgrade my memory now and hard drive space. :) ;-)
Overall excellent product and price. Pick One Up!

This card is speedy enough for my tastes. Shooting w/ my Nikon D70s in burst mode: I can record 3fps (frames per second) in raw for the first four shots and average 1.5 sec between shots thereafter (by comparison, my extreme IV 2 GB card gets 5 shots off at 3fps and averages 1.0 sec between additional shots). If I shoot with the transcend card in the maximum jpeg setting the results are even better: 3fps for the first 11 shots and 0.9 sec between shots thereafter.
I was able to read 786mb off the card in 48sec (51sec with extreme IV) using my sandisk extreme usb reader. Writing 786mb to the card from my computer (which I never do) was, however, slow: 105sec compared to 57sec with extreme IV.

Bought this 8GB for my Canon EOS Digital Rebel(300D). Amazon service was great, item just arrived on time... Price was cheapest @ Amazon.
The CF is working very well till now. Formatted many times, copy into PC with no problems. Detected by the camera normally.
One thing to tell, if you shoot more than 300 photo (aprox) & you keep shooting, the access becomes slower a bit; I think it's the camera & not the card (cause am using the highest resolution for the pics...), so it has to process all the old pics to save the new ones.... Just wanted to mention it...

Monsterous amount of space, FAST and INEXPENSIVE. I have used these cards, yes I have more then one and I have used them in Nikon D200, Olympus Camedia 8080 and others and it comes close to many of the SanDisk Extreme III cards in speed and beats some others. Regardless of that you have the ability to take thousands of photos on one card and for $30 give or take when you search for it online. I recommend it and if you get via Amazon you usually have the option to return it if you have problems. Always check the return policies where ever you purchase items, especially through other sellers whom do not often have a similar easy and wide ranging return policy like amazon.
