Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Transcend 4 GB Class 6 microSDHC Flash Memory Card TS4GUSDHC6Customer Review: Just wish it came with a case Summary: 4 Stars
As far as the micro SD card goes, it works just fine.
Drawbacks:
Since this only comes with the SD adapter, you'll need to make sure that either your card reader for your PC is SDHC compatible, or you'll need to also purchase a SDHC or micro SDHC USB card reader. If you don't have any SDHC compatible readers, you won't be able to transfer data to/from your computer to this card.
Secondly, while this card comes with the full-size adapter, it does not come with a case. If you'll always have the card in your camera, phone, etc, this might not be a big issue for you, but I still think a case would be nice to at least store the adapter.
Third, in my card reader, the adapter was very hard to pull out. This was partly an issue with my card reader, as it doesn't allow very much of the full-size SD card to stick out, but the adapter also seemed very tight in the reader compared to regular SD cards.
As for the speed, I haven't done any specific testing, but nothing made me feel the card was slow. I'm using it in an M3 DS real for a Nintendo DS, and haven't had any compatibility issues.
Overall, it works well with a couple minor drawbacks. For the price it was the best deal at the time, though I would've paid a bit more if it came with a case and an SDHC reader.
Customer Review: SDHC ? Pay attention. Summary: 3 Stars
This 4 GB SDHC Card, with the adapter and an internal SD card reader writes at less than x MB (see comment). My old 2 GB micro SD from Nokia writes at about 3.75 MB per second with the same adapter(approx. numbers from Vista, my 5 dollar 2 GB Kingston SD card, not micro, writes at about 7.5 MB/s).
My Nokia N82 (which should read SDHC cards, does not like the card. It can read from the card but is very slow and freezes some time. No problem with the old one.
I do not know if my card is faulty, or if I formatted with the wrong cluster size or sth. like this. I do not have to time for further testing. I may use it as a backup etc. Overall it is cheap, but I cannot recommend this card.
Edit: After a first bad impression, I am using this card in a garmin nuvi 265wt. It works fine. A second speed test shows:
Writing speed: 5.5-5.8 Mb/s
Reading speed: ~15 Mb/s.
Still, I do not know why this card is not working in some SDHC compatible devices like my cell phone.
Customer Review: Perfect for your smartphone or GPS Summary: 5 Stars
I didn't really have any experience with Transcend's products, so I bought one of these for my Garmin nüvi 500 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator so I could store extra maps and other things. The card's worked just fine for my GPS, and I was happy to buy another one so I could store mp3s on my Blackberry 8900. I'm happy with it for what I paid and for the purpose it serves.
What's cool for me is that Transcend hopped on board Amazon's "Frustration Free" packaging initiative. The worst part about getting memory cards is the fear that I'm going to cut myself with that shrinkwrapped plastic packaging (because I'm that idiot who takes a big steak knife to open these packages instead of scissors.) It's really nice for Amazon to do this, and it makes sense both environmentally and economically.
Customer Review: MicroSDHC is GREAT - Adapter is JUNK! Summary: 3 Stars
My overall view of the Transcend MicroSD card is that the product itself is good; however, the adapter that comes with it is not HC compatible. I have contacted Transcend directly about this shortfall and they are replacing the adapters as we speak. I do not blame the vendor that sold the card as the package was sealed and it was not a pirated version of the product. There are many different products available through the Amazon website that are also not HC compatible but sold with high capacity markings. If I were to purchase more cards from Amazon.com I would ensure the vendor tested the functionality with HC cards before I ordered them or allowed them to be shipped to me. I suggest dealing direct wth the manufacturer for these VERY FAST MicroSD Cards as they are now available directly on their website.
Customer Review: 3 memory cards.. all garbage for me. Summary: 1 Stars
I bought 3 of these for 3 different Google G1 phones. Mine, and for 2 of my friends' phones. All 3 of them stopped working with a few weeks of owning them. (Card could not be rad or acknowledged by the device) So either the G1 is not compatible... which a previous reviewer claimed to have no issue with their G1 and their Transcend memory card.. or we got 3 duds... either way we are out about $40.Not a very expensive lesson, but maybe you can learn from my mistake. I just have not had any luck with this card. So I bought 3 Kingston instead and all is fine now. So I am not sure which it was, the card or the G1 device, or both.. but I recommend trying something else if you have a similar situation!
