Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Transcend 4 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card TS4GSDHC6

Customer Review: Worked once... quit while on vacation in Hawaii
Summary: 1 Stars

Tried this card out in the swimming pool in an underwater camera, and it worked fine. Shot video snorkling with sea turtles and tropical fish in Hawaii, went to download, and nothing, put it back in the camera to download from the camera, card error! Lost everything. I haven't used it since and I will attempt to recover it using the advice from other users. BOTTOM LINE- I bought this card, thinking that I needed a 4GB card- but when added to the shipping, paid $17 including shipping, I would have been better off buying two 2 GB cards from any other place (of higher quality).

Customer Review: Does Not Work in All Card Readers
Summary: 4 Stars

At less than $7, these cards are a steal, so I bought two of them. They work great in my Canon 450D and the class 6 speeds are noticeable. The camera along with my name-brand card readers (Sandisk, Eye-Fi) read/write to the cards perfectly fine... but my cheaper multi-format card readers don't detect the cards at all. They simply act as if the card isn't inserted into the reader. Both of my new Transcend cards behave the same way.

For me, that's not a deal breaker since I have multiple reader at my disposal (plus it works in the camera, so that's what matters).

Customer Review: Great value.
Summary: 5 Stars

Do note that you check whether your device works with SDHC before you buy this card. (A lot of devices don't, and will only accept the older standard up to 2gb.)

I can't comment on the speed of the card, as my N800, for which I bought the card, doesn't allow the fastest transfer rates (which is also why I didn't bother looking around for the fastest Japanese build cards.)

If you have a device like the N800, this is probably the best choice for you, you'll get maximum performance, maximum capacity (at the time I bought this), for the best price.

Customer Review: Works great - Fast
Summary: 5 Stars

Used in Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5.
Also used with cheap HD-SD adapter without problem.

The speed is great. I haven't clocked it but the camera said that it required 10mb/sec write speed to ensure that video would not suffer from dropped frames. Again I cannot give definitive numbers, but I recorded 5 min. of video stream without a hitch.

Special Note:
I saw a few reviews where people were reporting defective units so I set the camera to multi-shot and filled the card with jpegs and video to ensure that it was functional.

Customer Review: Transcend 4GB SDHC - Don't waste your $$$
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas... along with a nice digital camera. The camera works great (a Canon) but this card never worked. I tried the camera I own also - which is also a Canon. You can't format it because it says it's locked. It's not locked though. I tried flipping the switch a few times in case of a glitch but that didn't help. My computer doesn't recognize it either.

I'm glad others have ones that work... kudos to them. But I've learned my lesson... you get what you pay for - in camera cards and everything else.
