Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Transcend 4 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card TS4GSDHC6

Customer Review: Transcend 4G SDHC Class 6
Summary: 4 Stars

This Transcend 4G SDHC Class 6 memory card works very well with my Cannon S3 IS digital camera. It takes continuous video to full capacity at the highest resolution(640X480) It also takes pictures at the highest resolution with a pretty fast speed. It is up to the speed of a class 6 SDHC as far as I can tell. I have a 1G Sandisk Extreme that takes rapid fire pictures a little faster, but this Transcend 4G SDHC does very well in taking pictures quickly one after the other. It will hold over 31 minutes of continuous video at the highest resolution(640x480) for my camera. I recommend it to anyone who needs a high capacity SD card that has enough speed to do video and large picture files in a faster succession. It is at a great price. The only thing I can't answer to is as to how long it will last. I have only owned it a short time. My hope is that it will last for several years, but I think only time will tell.

Customer Review: Created corrupted RAW files on G10
Summary: 1 Stars

When used with Canon G10, it created several corrupted files. I shot in RAW and after 15 shot, I tried to review and the picture shows up, took several more shots and when I tried to to review the previous picture that I can see before now have the big question mark on it and says "unidentified file". The card never left the camera! Took more pictures and then more files now has that dreaded questions mark.

When I got home and uploaded the files, those with the questions mark is now corrupted (has only 1/4 size, incorrect color etc).

I reformated the card several times, this same issue happened again.

I sent an inquiry to transcend USA 3 days ago and hasn't got any reply.

Card was formatted in camera several times before use. Camera works fine twith Kingston 6 SDHC 8GB.

If they responded, I might edit this review.

Customer Review: Not so lucky
Summary: 2 Stars

Well, based on the almost 3000 Amazon reviews, I went out on a limb and spent the few bucks to get this card. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of the lucky ones without issues. The card seemed to work ok at first, but after a couple of uses in my camera, it suddenly stopped being read. The camera showed an error that the card couldn't be used, so I pulled it out and put it directly into my PC's card reader only to see another error message that the card was invalid and needed formatting. I eventually got my vacation pics off of it, but I don't think I'm taking any more chances on this card again. Luckily, it was cheap enough to just toss. I won't bother returning it, because I now do not trust this brand and don't want another clunker. I'll go for ones I have had success with before - SanDisk or Kingston. Good luck, but buyer beware. You get what you pay for.

Customer Review: Does what I want.
Summary: 5 Stars

After exploring a few options for some new SDHC cards for a few cameras, I opted for the Class 6, 4 GB cards from Transcend. But first ... I wanted to see a comparison of what a Class 6 card would do compared to a standard SD and a Class 2.

I looked it up on the internet and found the Class 6 cards would load and process information faster than the standard but not as fast as the Class X or the higher numbered cards, but was a full 50% less expensive. Transcend (the maker / distributor) was rated in the high middle of reliability and pricing. These were in my budget and since receiving, have been my primary chips for both of my Lumix / Leica cameras.

They did what I wanted in a price range which was very fair and competitive. So far, I really enjoy using these and have no complaints or other observations.

Customer Review: An excellent card for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted to buy a 4GB card for my Dell Inspiron iM1012-799OBK Mini 1012 10.1-Inch Netbook (Obsidian Black) for using Windows 7's Readyboost, which uses SD cards or USB drives as swap space and will speed up the responsiveness for the computer.

I have a few Transcend cards in various Canon digital cameras, and they've worked without fail. They've gone from a brand that's cheap and questionable to a brand that's cheap and dependable. The lifetime warranty on the cards always helps out. It's nice to know that if the card dies, it can be replaced.

Overall, I'm happy. The card makes my Netbook seem speedier and doesn't add any weight to my netbook. In terms of "best bang for your buck," this card is it.
