Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Transcend 16 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card with Card Reader TS16GSDHC6-S5WCustomer Review: This card failed me within two days! Summary: 1 Stars
I've had this card only a couple of days, formatted it in my camera (a new Canon Rebel), took some pictures and the next time I turned it on the camera couldn't find the card. It told me to put in a new card or format it. Tried to format the card again and the camera couldn't find the card. I tried to use the card reader it came with and it couldn't read the card either. So, I lost all my pictures and have a useless card...which I bought for a trip I'm taking in 4 days! Now I will have to go out and buy a more expensive card. This is the first time in 8 years of digital photography that a card has ever failed me. Now I will be forever paranoid about losing my pictures if it could happen this easily. If I could give this a minus star, I would! The only reason it gets even one star is that I'm using the 8 GB Transcend card and, so far, it is working okay.
Customer Review: Did me well on trip to China Summary: 5 Stars
This product performed admirably on the task I set it, which was to record pictures and video taken with my Canon PowerShot S5IS while on a nine day trip to China. Recorded over 1700 pictures and videos using up 14 of the 16GB on the card without a single hiccup. This class 6 card also provided noticeably faster performance than either of my old 2GB cards, one class 2 the other class 0. Knocked one star off the packaging rating due to the lack of inclusion of a plastic holder for the card when it's not in use, and for the fact that the included card reader has a plastic USB plug, which I'm afraid my prove fragile compared to readers with standard metal USB plugs. I've only had the card for about two weeks, but it did what I asked it to do over that time, and I'm anticipating that it will be my primary SD card for years to come.
Customer Review: I'm sorry I bought this piece of trash Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this because it seemed like a great deal. Then I took it to tape and take pictures of my vacation. I captured some very special and unreplaceable moments, just to find out once I tried to use the card reader to see the video and pictures that the computer won't even see the card. I tried to use the transfer cord that came with the camecorder, and it wouldn't read it either. I have cables to view the contents on my TV, so I did that only to find about 90% of my precious moments gone!
Well lesson learned. My recomendation is that if you have something special you want to keep, don't use Trancend. I will never make this mistake again. I feel awful about all the work I put in, and the pictures and video lost.
Oh, and BTW, this IS the card and reader sold by Amazon, not another company. So beware.
Customer Review: Fast and enormous capacity Summary: 5 Stars
This memory card and reader is used on my Nikon digital camera. It is large enough to handle over 2,000 large-format JPG images and can even handle over 900 large-format JPG + RAW images (double files for weddings, etc). This card is not accepted in any built-in SD reader on computers I've tried thus far, without the use of the supplied card reader. That is simple enough though, as all I have to do is plug the reader into the computer's USB and the card is read. This card is not rated as fast as some of the most expensive cards currently available, but is fast enough to take 4 frames-per-second without overrunning the camera buffer (that is, if some of the custom settings on the camera are turned off - they are unneeded during fast-frame capture anyway so it doesn't matter). This card + reader set is an excellent value.
Customer Review: Great Card and Card Reader Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this product from Amazon and received within 3 days. Great service. Memory card is also quite good, it's a 16GB Class 6 SDHC card and I got it for my new Canon Rebel XSi DSLR Camera to save the images in RAW format. RAW file size is huge, around 16MB for 1 photo. So with this card I can comfortably take 1000 pics without formatting. As it is a class 6 SDHC card, camera read/write speed is also fast. Another great stuff is the card reader. I am using MacBook Aluminum and it doesn't have in built card reader. So this external card reader is great help for me. I don't have to connect the camera with USB cable with MacBook. Just pull the SDHC card, put it in card reader and plug the card reader into the USB port of MacBook. Then iPhoto or Adobe Lightroom instantly detect the storage and transfer it fast.
