This producted worked well for the first two months. Then, today, I tried to upload my Kentucky derby photos and videos and I got the infamous "I/O reading error". Basically means, the card is broken.
I tried EVERY means to reformat the drive. From PC reformat to manual CMD reformat, nothing worked!!
Thank goodness there are great memory card recovery programs, or else my precious Derby moments would have been lost, but WATCH OUT, don't get stuck in the safe mode of thinking. This error may come back and bite you .
Spend the extra money and get a good brand.

The combination of a USB card reader and 16 GB SDHC memory card is handy. I use this combo to backup my PC's most important working files and Outlook email PST file since they don't all fit on a rewritable DVD. I also use this to transfer files between computers. This combo was less expensive than the same capacity USB flash drive (at the time I purchased) and more flexible since I can use cheaper SD cards that also work in my digital camera.
It would have been nice to include a little protective storage case for at least the SD card, but I'll just use my old CF card cases I don't need anymore.

There is not much to be said about such a mundane device: it just works. I own three of these cards (bought the first one more than six months ago) and they have been performing flawlessly. Read and write performance is fast enough that they have no problem keeping up with my Canon DSLR or my compact camera while recording HD video.
The bundled reader is very small and convenient.
If you don't need the reader, you can save yourself a couple of bucks by ordering the Frustration-Free Packaging version.

The Transcend 16 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card with Card Reader TS16GSDHC6-S5W randomly loses images. I returned the first one (originally bought 12/8/08) and now the second one (received 2/28/09) is losing images as well. I contacted Panasonic and they said do NOT use Transcend. For my Panasonic Case # 26614647, here are their exact words: "Please do not use the transcend brand at all. We recommend that you purchase a Panasonic sd card. If you can not get Panasonic, please get another brand like San Disk." Fortunately, Amazon was willing to refund me in-full even after their 30 refund policy expired.Customer Review: Flash Card won't work!

We bought a 16GB & a 32GB for our HD Canon camera. The 32GB worked just fine. Unfortunately, we just tried to use the 16GB card and nothing stuck! The camera did some initial video and photos but when my husband played them back they just disappeared from the card! First the video was gone and then the photos. He tried initializing, no luck and then we tried to download the photos with our card reader, again nothing. The lesson here is be sure to check your cards soon after you receive them so that you can return them if they don't work. We're stuck with a faulty card that we can no longer return.
