Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of TDK 4.7GB 16x DVD-R (100-Pack Spindle)Customer Review: These are great! Summary: 5 Stars
What a steal is all I can say! I am a videographer, and I am always looking for "the best" blank media, for a good price. When you figure that you are paying less than 1/3 of the price of what you would pay elsewhere, you really would be crazy not to look into the great product. For those of you who are having problems with the DVD's, you are probably using them with lousy products. I use mine with my dual core imac, so they don't give me any problems.
Thanks Amazon, and keep this product, 'cause I will come back for more!!!
Customer Review: Entire spindle is NO Good - Unuseable Summary: 1 Stars
Bought these on 7-18-09. I didn't need them until 11-20-09. They have been stored indoors in a cabinet below my tv.I had trouble burning a few and thought it was my burner. NOT SO !! So far, 10 of 10 have been no good. Tried a new burner and same thing. I bought a spindle of HP dvd's and so far, 10 for 10 have burned successfully. I have used TDK's for years because they were so reliable. This spindle is 100% rotten - no good - trash, can't even use them as frisbees.
I want my money PLEASE!!
Customer Review: TDKs were a rip off. Summary: 1 Stars
I bought into the name game. TDK is suppose to be a name brand. I went through 25 discs of a pack of 100 before realizing that it was the disks. They will play fine on a standalone dvd player up to about an hour and a half then freeze. They burn fine with no problem but after that, I can't even get them to load on my computer, just the dvd player for a 1.5 hrs till freeze. You can't even skip past 1.5 hrs by index. I have an NEC and Plextor burner and am quite burn savvy. What a waste.
Customer Review: Not what I would have expected from TDK Summary: 1 Stars
I have used many TDK DVDs in the past and never had the problems I did with this spindle. When I came up with my 3rd bad DVD I thought at first I might have got a bad batch. Then I saw another review about these disks actually being made by Ritek - that reviewer is correct when I go to burn the manufacturer shows up as Ritek. Ritek is a brand I had many problems with in the past as well and I have learned to stay away from unless I don't mind throwing out about 5-10% of the disks.
Customer Review: ONLY A COUPLE OF DEFECTIVES SO FAR Summary: 5 Stars
I'm more than half way through the stack of 100 copying old VHS tapes on a Sony dubbing deck. I've had two disks that would not finalize, and so far I don't consider this excessive. I have also used several as tests and played the same portion of several disks to see if ten(10) or more playings would degrade the recording-- no problem.
However, I am not throwing out the old VHS tapes! As an unemployed video archivist I'm not taking chances on old home movies.
