I've bought my fair share of DVD'Rs - I always buy them in the 100 packs (since I use a lot) and have tried pretty much all brands... Sony HP Memorex Fuji TDK Verbatim...
I won't really do any comparison but from my experience, there wasn't anything about TDK that would make me turn away. The last set I bought was the TDK 100 DVD+R (the one for this review) and I got only 2 bad DVDs out of 100... I wouldn't say that's bad.
So far, they all seem to be about the same . Choose whichever one seems cheap at the moment.... :)

I usually grab spindles of Memorex or Sony DVDs, but these were on sale, so I gave them a shot. I will not be using these again. I'm about halfway through the spindle currently, and I've coastered about 1/3rd of the discs. I expect a ruined dvd now and then, but these DVDs seem really cheap. regardless of recording speed or setup, they just seem to fail... this is compared to the Memorex & Sony DVDs which I've had almost no problems with. If you're looking for cheap blank DVDs, I'd suggest trying something else.Customer Review: Many defective Discs

This had a really good price when I bought it ($23.99 April-2008), but the quality was very bad. When I try to burn a DVD I hear a weird noise, after this the DVD frozes my system (there is a chance <50% that it will continue burning). First, I thought that my DVD drive broke, but when I used other brand DVDs I did not hear any noise, neither have any problem. Surely the worst DVDs I ever bought and the most expensive $/useful disk. I tried different burning software, but I had the same response.Customer Review: First two discs bad so far

Well, I just purchased this from amazon because of the great price. I just opened the package and so far the first two discs failed in the middle of the burn due to bad media. Hopefully I have success with the rest or this will be a bad investment. I read the other reviews and they were all good. But I have to give this item a bad review. I usually get maybe 2 bad discs per spindle, but I have never gotten two right out of the package.
Update: Third attempt to burn was a success.

TDK portrays themselves as manufacturer of quality media. However, the DVD media they sell are inferior quality media manufactured by another company. This can only be seen using special software that displays the media codes.
Why pay TDK premium prices for the same disks that are sold as cheap discount disks under different brand names?
If you want reliable quality media, TDK is not the brand to trust. Try something else, like Verbatim. Stay away from TDK!
