Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Eforcity Black 6FT /2 Meter HDMI Male to DVI Male Cable

Customer Review: Cheap HD
Summary: 5 Stars

This cable does exactly what its suppose to. I use it to connect my Xbox 360 to my 22inch computer monitor. It's full HD Quality on the monitor. I'm surprised on how good it looks. this is actually cheaper do set up than buying an HDTV. Monitors you can find on sale alot cheaper than a HDTV the same size. and any pair of $10 speakers are going to be just as good if not better than the built in ones on a TV. If you already have a DVI monitor no need to shell out the money for a TV to connect your HDMI device to.

On the Xbox 360 also it KNOWS its connected to a monitor using this cable. under display settings it has resolutions instead of HD settings. Mine went to 1600x1000 something. It barely cuts off the top and bottom of monitor but my viewing range on games is a major increase.

Keep in mind this isn't the only thing you'll need to connect your xbox up. You'll still need your AV cable to put out the sounds to your speakers. My setup is the RCA audio males that come with the xbox to a [female RCA to male audio jack] cable, plugged into an audio coupler and the speaker audio jack plugged into the other side of the coupler. If you have a sound system that takes in RCA audio then that comes with the xbox and thats all you need. And yes the audio will still transmit though the Standard AV cables with the HDMI plugged in.

Customer Review: Great for Xbox 360
Summary: 5 Stars

I've recently bought two of these at the same time one for my self the other for a friend to be used with our xbox 360's. After hooking mine up, I went straight into the systems video settings where i was surprised to be greeted by a large number of resolution settings to choose from.

( and... THEY ALL WORKED! as opposed to other types of connections 360 to VGA or some kind of Component to VGA box adapter).

I'm rather pleased with this cable I'm currently running the system on 1920x1080 wide screen and even though my monitor is not wide screen I can't see any problems with my image at all I love it! The HDMI end of the cable is nice and thin which makes it easy to have it sit along side an other xbox 360 cable Not the component microsoft version though it's plastic housing is too large, you could remove it though there are guides on line for this if you wish to try. I don't have sound on this monitor Samsung SyncMaster 730B so I just used the regular RCA red yellow and white cables that came with the 360 and hooked up the sound portion of the cable to my speakers.

I'd recommend this to anyone who wants better display for their games on just about any monitor Mine is a 4:3 aspect ratio and it works great even at the highest wide screen rez so go for it!

Customer Review: Solid item, great seller
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this cable to connect my 13" MacBook to my new 40" Samsung television.

When paired with the adapater to go from mini-DVI to HDMI (should be listed as something like this: "Apple M9321G/B Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter", but Belkin also makes a decent substitute), I can see crystal clear images from my laptop on my television.

The cable is solidly constructed and does not look or feel cheap.
The plain, black color is great because it fades into the background behind my tv.

If you have a Mac, one of the newer ones with mini DVI out, and a tv with HDMI inputs, this is a great buy.

You'll also need some way to transmit the audio signal, but that's a pretty easy solution. Just pick up a 3.5mm to RCA cable. Make sure to plug it into the RCA input (the red and white audio inputs) that correspond to the HDMI input you're using. On my samsung, it's clearly marked as HDMI/DVI input.

Basically, if you have a laptop and a good tv - you can pick up this cable and two others for around $50 and have a full multimedia station. And you won't need a DVD player or AppleTV or any other costly player.

Could be a few feet longer, but that's just because of how my tv is set up and no fault of the cable itself.

Customer Review: Simple Solution
Summary: 5 Stars

In today's complex world, I have almost come to expect that things will never, ever be simple. That's why when I went looking for a way to connect my PS3 to my 23" computer monitor I was not sure that this cable (or any other method) would be simple and just work.

This piece however, was an exception to the rule. I plugged it in to the monitor and the PS3 and IT JUST WORKED. That was such a pleasant surprise that it had to get a review to document it.

The caveat is that I do believe the monitor in such a setup needs to be HDCP compliant (mine is). Also, if your monitor doesn't have speakers (and possibly even if it does-I can't test that), you'll need to figure a way to output sound separately or do without sound. In my case, the RCA jacks from PS3 are connected to a 3.5 mm adapter and into the line-in for my computer then the sound can be coaxed out through the speakers....but I digress into the complicated nature of things.

This cable gets a video signal from the PS3 to a HDCP compliant computer monitor-that's all I ever wanted it to do. I didn't test to verify this, but it should also work to convert a DVI port to an additional HDMI port if you have an HDTV that does not have enough HDMI ports for your needs.

Customer Review: Phenomenal Value!

So, this isn't the most technical review, but I just wanted to let others out there know that if you've been on the fence about purchasing this cable, vs. one of the other more expensive ones, ABSOLUTELY get this one!

After a recent purchase of a 1080p upconvert DVD player for my boyfriend's birthday, I accidentally bought the wrong cable (one of the waaaay pricer ones) and rather than return it, I just gave it to my brother that needed one...anyway, that left me with a decision of whether to heavily invest in yet another cable, or pay $6.50 and take a chance that this one might work.

Soooo, I bought this one and had the cable shipped directly to my boyfriend. He excitedly called me as he plugged it in and he "oohed and ahhhd" as he switched to the new resolution. Anyway, he's the more techie kinda guy that can talk resolution and hz and all that other stuff that goes beyond me and he didn't know the difference between this fantastic little find vs. the other kind.

This is the best investment I've made in a long time! And the seller is great!!! From the time I placed the order to receipt of the cable was 3 days!!!!
