Customer Review: On and Off to dock...ugh!
Summary: 3 Stars

I love the sturdy case but am dismayed that it has to be removed every time you want to use a speaker docking station. I gave this IPOD to my brother who does not have a computer. He is disabled so I felt he needed a cover to protect it. Since he did not have a computer to charge the battery I bought him a docking station. He is not mentally able to figure out how to take this cover on and off....so it's sort of useless now. He needs to charge his IPOD every day and he is not able to do that with the cover on. If they had only made the rubber on the bottom thinner then it would have fit on the dock but the rubber is way too thick. Ya think they would have tested that out before they made it.

Customer Review: Heavy duty cover
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a heavy duty cover. Fits my new 160 GB iPod perfectly. I like it because I can throw it in my purse, on the car seat, clip it on the outside of my bag and not worry about the ipod getting damaged. I use mine mostly for exercise, plug into the car and just generally throw it in my purse so that I can put it on anytime I'm out. The clip is a strong one and is essential for me to wear it during exercise so it doesn't come off. The case protects it if it falls on the floor, etc. I like the fact that I can toss it on the car seat, on a chair, basically anywhere and not worry that it's going to get damaged in this case. It's not a sleek "girly" case that is for sure.

Customer Review: Disaster Averted. The "Tough" in Toughskin is no hype.
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading the many positive reviews, I purchased the Speck Toughskin for my 160 Classic. It's stylish (each of my 3 brothers ordered one after seeing mine) and more importantly to me it does exactly what it says: saves your Ipod.

I ordered this a day after receiving my new 160-Ipod. Two days after receiving it, I had exited my car at the supermarket, got distracted and my Ipod slips out of my hand and smack!! hits concrete. I'm staring down at it with the utter certainty it's died a sudden death.

Needless to say, it didn't and has been in perfect working order. So for $18 or so (including shipping)my Ipod was protected. Well worth the money.

Customer Review: Good Protector but ......
Summary: 4 Stars

For sure it is a good protector for my Ipod, and that is why I bought it. However, the Ipod cannot be 'slid' into a pocket anymore. The protecting cover makes the Ipod bulky and it 'grabs' the material of a pocket. It comes with a belt clip, which is fine, but don't expect to go jogging with it as it will be too bulky and bouncy. (The Nano or Shuffle is more for running anyways)
The rubberized material is good in the car because the Ipod won't slide around. Lastly, I use the Monster brand FM transmitter. The plug of the transmitter was bigger than the opening of the protector. I simply used a razor blade to enlarge the opening to accomidate the plug.

Customer Review: Bounce Test
Summary: 5 Stars

I had to spend a couple of days in the hospital getting zapped with radiation and took my Ipod 80GB Classic with me in this case. Three times it was dropped down to the hard floor from hospital bed height and it survived them all. I was required to lie totally flat for two days at a stretch, I was able to handle this with 80 GB of jazz and what-not on the Ipod to pass the time. I was more than happy when my player was fetched from the floor several times and remained in perfect working condition following the Inadvertent Bounce Tests. Was it the case that saved the day? Who knows, but it did survive, as did I and we are both still playing...
