Ive used this protector for my 80 gig ipod for a few years now and it has held up good. i am pretty rough on my ipod, i usually split firewood with it and keep it in my front pocket. this thing has been crushed, dropped, stepped on, left in the sun. you name it i probably did it to the ipod. The only thing i have yet to do is send it through the wash when i do not recommend. So far my ipod has broken twice over the years of abuse. the only thing i had to do was pop it open and do a lil tinkering around which i also do not recommend unless you know what your looking at. i can honestly say if i did not have a protector for this ipod the case would be cracked, the screen would also be cracked, and it would probably not work anymore. it is very durable and so far the rubber has not stretched out.Customer Review: Love the TouchSkin

I purchased this toughskin for my boyfriend who carries and uses his iPod everywhere....from drumming in his church band to rock climbing in his jeep to riding his Yamaha YZF600R motorcycle...and even listening to the stereo at home. This case fits his 160 gig iPod perfectly (leaving in the insert). He doesn't use a belt clip, so we removed it. The iPod is now fully protected in the diverse environments he exposes it to. Also, previous cases we had didn't allow clean access to the center controls. This cover allows easy access to the center controls. He does use the optional screen protector...again, it fits perfectly. If you plan to use your iPod in extreme conditions or you just want a really tough cover to protect your iPod when you drop it, this is the cover for you!Customer Review: Speck Toughskin. I've wrapped three iPods with the ToughSkin, the first one in 2005. They are good cases which are quite durable, I've never had the case break or tear and they are quite shock resistant. In my opinion the rubber handles a fall better than a metal or plastic case would. I've dropped my iPods more times than I can count, but they always work afterwords.
I gave my brother an iPod with the Speck case, and it's endured through two separate tours to Iraq & Afghanistan and back without any damage. They're hard to beat, especially for the price.
At the risk of sounding like a plant, I'd just like to add that Speck is a great company to deal with. I had one of the little plastic screen protectors fall out and they sent me two promptly and without charge.

i've bought a few iPod covers in my day, and none so far have survived the concrete jungle of new york city (and the thousand times i've dropped it) like this one! the rubber is thick and very protective, and it is ridged, which is super handy to wrap the earbud wire around when not in use. it comes with adjustable attachments for those of us with 80gig iPods. the belt clip is also very sturdy, and i have used it as a cord winder for over 6 months. this also comes with a protective screen for your iPod screen - which doesn't scratch at all! and they leave the touch wheel uncovered - thank god!!!! why do all the other companies cover the wheel?? it's the worst idea they've ever had!
this is an excellent cover (and accessories) - it really respects your iPod 8)

This is a good thing. First it fits perfectly and the surface is "toothy" and elastic for a fantastic grip and shock absorbent to boot(ie. no more dropping that slippery little $300 ipod with the fragile screen.) Second, this baby has two nice extras -- a molded-in solid and pretty standard belt clip "rivet" and an effective and removable protective "coverslip" screen protector.The latter is not perfect but still quite worthwhile. Problem is the coverslip tends to slid down and away from the screen. I wedged mine in place with a nice little piece of fat rubber band. But, hey, that is just how I roll. Mwaaaaahahaha. I got this jewel for $5 with free shipping. Such a deal!! I hope you find something good like this in your life, too. hahaha
