Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Speck ArmorSkin Case for 80/120/160 GB iPod classic 6G (Black)Customer Review: Still holding up after over two years... Summary: 4 Stars
Just dropped my iPod Classic out in the gravel parking lot and then I stepped on it.
Took off the case, removed the iPod, dusted it off and it looks like new. Reminded me just how well this case works.
The other nice thing is the texture/material of the case enables it to sit snug, even next to you on the console in your vehicle, stopping or taking sharp turns it stays put.
That being said, the others are correct in noting that it does get loose over time, especially if you remove it frequently. And, yes, the plastic cover does get scratched, especially if you drop it in a gravel parking lot.
For how often I take this thing with me and use it in different environments, I swear by this case.
Customer Review: Just what I was looking for Summary: 5 Stars
I love this case. It fits perfectly over my IPOD classic 7gen 160gb. The case is durable, easy to hold (with great grips) and keeps my ipod safe from scratches and damage. I've already dropped it a few times and nothing bad has happened to it. I like how the turn wheel is not covered as it gives you more flexibility to maneuver with it. Everything else fits safe and sound inside the case. You can charge the ipod or connect it to any source using the USB cable without a problem. The only minor complaint I have is you have to remove the case to effectively use the earphone jacks, but it is easy to slide on or off so that really isn't an issue for me. I looked at many different cases before deciding on this one and I'm glad I chose it!
Customer Review: Tough Case Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this to go with my new 6G Classic. Well worth it. The only problem I have had was the hole for the ring is not 100% in line with the ring on the iPod. It's not noticeable to the eye, but when you push the menu area, you can feel it hang up slightly. I am in a real dirty environment. I am deployed to Iraq where sand and dust blow everywhere. I put my iPod in the case the day it got here, and removed it about a month later to place it on a docking station. Not a speck of dust, or dirt inside the case. The plastic screen is a little scratched up due to carrying it around in my pocket with other necessary items. The way I see it, better the plastic screen, then my iPod. Well worth the money.
Customer Review: streches out over time-loses snug fit Summary: 4 Stars
A few years back Apple sold a slim 120gb iPod Classic and a thicker 160gb iPod Classic. Now Apple only sells a slim 160gb iPod classic. This case fits the older thicker 16ogb ipod and includes a rubber insert to also fit the slim ipod classics. So, if you have a slim ipod classic, the case is bulkier (thicker) than necessary. It also DOES NOT COVER THE FLYWHEEL. It looks like a tire around your ipod. It feels rugged in your hand and does not slide around on surfaces. As with all iPod cases I have ever seen, you will need to remove it to fit in a docking station. I like it.
UPDATE
My case has stretched out over time. No longer snug fit but still works. Took about 4 months to get loose.
Customer Review: Excellent, If Bulky Summary: 5 Stars
This case is near perfect. It has a high-friction surface so it won't slide around if you put it on the car dash, for example. It's protective soft case and hard shell make it a great protective case. The only draw-backs are its size (but if you're buying an iPod classic, thats probably not your biggest concern) and difficulty to remove from your pocket. It's high-friction case makes it hard to take out of your pocket without turning your entire pocket inside-out. I'm not sure how easy it would be to fit it in a pair of jeans, as I haven't had it that long, but I imagine it wouldn't be very easy. For fifteen bucks, its a great snag. If you want a quality case, go for this.
